With the deadline to submit candidate petitions to the Iowa Secretary of State’s office set for this coming Friday, Nader petitions are being circulated at Republican rallies:
CLIVE, Iowa. Some of President Bush’s supporters are again being asked to sign a petition to put consumer activist Ralph Nader on the ballot in Iowa as an independent candidate.
It happened today in the Des Moines suburb of Clive, where Vice President Dick Cheney was speaking at a midday rally.
At least one person asked Republicans to sign a petition for Nader. He refused to identify himself or the group he was with.
One woman who signed the petition says she did it because Nader could steal votes from Democrat John Kerry.
