Australia’s Howard Caught in Web of Lies

From Holden:

When Australian PM John Howard was warned that the War on Iraq would increase the likelihood of terrorist attacks…

The Australian government was repeatedly warned by its own intelligence agencies before Iraq was invaded that the war would inflame terrorism, a newspaper reported Monday.

He chose to lie about the advice he received.

In March 2003, in a televised address to the nation on the eve of the war, Mr Howard said: “Far from our action in Iraq increasing the terrorist threat, it will, by stopping the spread of chemical and biological weapons, make it less likely that a terrorist attack will be carried out against Australia”.

Sounds familiar, don’t it?
