John Edwards’ wit is too much for Bush/Cheney:
At an outdoor town hall meeting in battleground New Mexico on Monday, Edwards noted that Bush was giving a health care speech the same day. “I hear it’s a short speech,” Edwards quipped as the audience roared. “The best I can tell, his health care plan is pray you don’t get sick.”
Hitting Cheney for his ties to his former oil company, Edwards said sarcastically, “They would never do anything special for Halliburton, would they?” And then, in response to a question, he said with a chuckle, “You’re not suggesting that drug companies and insurance companies aren’t looking out for you? That’s not what you’re saying, right?” Laughter, hoots and hollers ensued.
