New Report, Same As The Old Report

From Holden:

Charles A. Duelfer is circulating his report on Iraq’s WMD capabilities, and it’s no surprise that he reaches the same conclusion as his predecessor David Kay.

Iraq possessed no stockpiles of WMD when the war began.

Iraq had no active WMD programs when the war began.

Iraq was not conducting any WMD program-related activities when the war began.

Duelfer does claim to have detected Saddam’s desire to obtain WMD if UN sanctions were lifted. I suppose that Bush will be happy to wage a war against desire, but I’m not so sure the voting public will consider that justification for the tragic loss of life in Iraq.
