Not necessarily comforting and yet …

At least this time they’re paying attention to lost votes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – An error with an electronic voting system gave President Bush 3,893 extra votes in suburban Columbus, elections officials said.

Franklin County’s unofficial results had Bush receiving 4,258 votes to Democrat John Kerry’s 260 votes in a precinct in Gahanna. Records show only 638 voters cast ballots in that precinct. Bush’s total should have been recorded as 365.

You know, in all the talk about voting irregularities, I’m struck by how much it’s become a Democratic issue. That’s idiotic. In a year or two, when Republicans start losing, they’re going to look really, really hard at these kinds of things, and once again look like huge hypocrites. Regardless of who wins or loses in the future, this is a huge problem.

They want bipartisan cooperation? This would be a good way to get it, a good issue to start everybody rallying around.
