From Holden:
Much has been said (often in anger) about religious folks voting for Bush last week. However, most of the regular churchgoers I know voted for Kerry.
My neighbors across the street – Methodists who go to church every Sunday and go on a medical mission to Costa Rica each June – voted for Kerry.
My mother and father-in-law – devout Baptists who go to Sunday School and regular church services and sing in the church chior – voted for Kerry.
My sister-in-law – an ordained Lutheran minister – voted for Kerry.
Let’s not be too quick to condemn all Christians. Bush drew much of his support last week from one of the largest segments of our society – assholes. People who talk about bombing France or stomping Arabs. Those are his people.
