Some comments from last night’s appeal for help for smalfish, I asked him if he’d mind updating us on his situation and I could post his response here if he chose. Here’s what he wrote:

I would like to take this time to express my deepest gratitude for the outreach that has been put forth for me and my family. You all are truly help unlooked for.

Here is a status update that I feel is required of me, as so many of you have felt moved to participate in my plight.

Today, Thursday the 3rd,I had made plans to go down to the attorney that is pursuing the case against me and settle up. Of course in my line of work, (self employed) I never really know what I am going to do the next morning and today was no different. I was forced to spend an entire day making my living.

SO I reluctantly handed the responsibility to my wife. This has been a large part of the reason we are where we are, in my opinion. Anyway, she was going to make the payment, until she got to work and realized that she wasn’t going to receive her check today, putting us under funded regardless of any outcomes.

So she resorted to calling the prick and trying to come up with the number so we can plan on having the money on Friday in the form of a cashiers check. Well the lawyer has changed the amount of the bill, upping it to 4300 dollars now. More fog for our condition is the way I see it.

She had a conversation with the man, and being a second hand to the conversation I am not all that sure of what was said, though I gather she made not nice with the man. I told her this was not a good idea, and that now the bill probably just got higher. Anyway, she did manage to get out of him, that the reporter who told me it was the lawyer who bought the property was “in fact” not the buyer. Apparently someone from east of here bought it. How the lawyer knows who the guy who bought it is a mystery, I guess is not solvable. It should also be noted that the lawyer could be lying his ass off.

So at the end of the day, not much progress was made. Though we are now deciding that we are not up to the challenge this lawyer has put down and are going to bite the bullet and rent an attorney. Gad I hate laws and lawyers (No offence to all you lawyers out there that are on my side).

I don’t have much faith in any attorney getting us out of this easily or for that matter any cheaper than if we just pay off this fucker that has our lives in the balance.

Tomorrow is a new day and I hope some kind of resolution is closer.

On another note, I don’t know if it is right to say this but I will anyway.

Donations have come to more than 750 dollars, as of tonight. I am completely flabbergasted. I don’t know what to say. I think “Thank You All” is inadequate. But unfortunately, at this time it’s all I have.
