Mixed news on the Bush Boom front today. Although the economy created and impressive 262,000 jobs last month the unemployment rate increased to 5.4% as the chronically unemployed started searching for jobs again.
In previous months, when the job creationg numbers were lackluster (that would be nearly every month for the past five years), the Bush assministration trumpeted the unemployment rate so today they’re sure to stress the new job numbers without any mention in the increase in joblessness.
