Pope John Paul Boo

From Holden:

There’s nothing quite like a good Protestant-Catholic rivalry.

Scottish soccer fans were criticized for jeering during a minute’s silence for Pope John Paul II, forcing the pre-game tribute to be cut short.

The booing by supporters of Hearts team came at Sunday’s Scottish Cup semifinal match against Celtic, which has mostly Catholic fans. The noise forced the referee to end the memorial less than halfway through. The game was televised in Britain and overseas.
