Dems Reach Out

From Holden:

Hmmmm…. Could there be another public official with a vacant house in the Waco area?

Rep. Chet Edwards, D-Waco, opened his Central Texas home to members of a Louisiana family who fled Hurricane Katrina.

Edwards said he wouldn’t have been able to sleep knowing he had a vacant home that could be used by a displaced family.

Edwards told The Dallas Morning News that his wife, Lea Ann, suggested loaning out their three-bedroom home.

The couple and their two children spend the school year in Washington.

Johnnie Marchand of Algiers, La. and her family moved in Saturday.

Tip of the hat to Kirk.
