First Draft Live!

Well, one-thirdfourth of it live, anyway.

Later this month, I’ll be doing a reading from my book Special Plans: The Blogs on Douglas Feith and the Faulty Intelligence that Led to War.

When: Tuesday, Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Barbara’s Bookstore, 1100 Lake Street, Oak Park, Illinois

The book, as you probably know since I haven’t shut UP about it for the past month, collects writing from all over left blogtopia (yes, skippy, you coined the phrase) about Feith, PNAC, Larry Franklin, and the general up-screwing of everything involved in the planning for and the execution of the war in Iraq.

The second in the Informed Citizen Guide series (which began with Untidy: The Blogs on Rumsfeld) includes essays from the likes of Attaturk, Dave Neiwert, Billmon, Steve Gilliard, Jerome Doolittle and many many other kickass bloggers who sum up, in much more concise fashion than I ever could, exactly how we got here, how bad here is, and what we have to do to move on.

Stop by and say hello if you’re in the neighborhood. The last time I met the Internet, it was pretty awesome. Come on out and talk for a while, and we’ll see if we can’t figure out a way to climb out of this national mess we’re mired in.
