These righteous repubs got Ds for their support of the vets.

I strongly suspect that gang activity in New York City (not as familiar with LA) is more a media trope than a pressing crime problem analogous to young suicide bombers or whatever Bush was talking about. Rather, it’s solitary school-shooters in your neck of the woods – in places like Missouri – who more closely fit this “model” of the young, zealous, suicidal psychotic…
On this point, we have VERY little hope of grasping what teenaged militant Muslims are thinking if we fail to see their American analogues, the disaffected gun-loving anti-social loner renegades of the all-American hinterlands…
Well, in order to do that, they’d actually have to have oil on the market in the first place. But thanks to the chaos, I don’t believe that Iraq has contributed meaningfully to the overall oil market for well over a year now. So turning off the trickle that’s now coming out of the country would be a non-event.
