Attempted Vehicular Homicide

Via ThinkProgress we bring you this Newsweek piece on Chimpy’s latest hilarious prank.

“I would suggest moving back,” Bush said as he climbed into the cab of a massive D-10 tractor. “I’m about to crank this sucker up.” As the engine roared to life, White House staffers tried to steer the press corps to safety, but when the tractor lurched forward, they too were forced to scramble for safety.”Get out of the way!” a news photographer yelled. “I think he might run us over!” said another. White House aides tried to herd the reporters the right way without getting run over themselves. Even the Secret Service got involved, as one agent began yelling at reporters to get clear of the tractor. Watching the chaos below, Bush looked out the tractor’s window and laughed, steering the massive machine into the spot where most of the press corps had been positioned. The episode lasted about a minute, and Bush was still laughing when he pulled to a stop.

  1. Sexual metaphor obviously a forte for the cretin in chief. In some cultures, ‘plowing’ of course has a connotation different from farming.

  2. So will the press finally stop referring to him as popular, and likeable, and all that shit?
    Nah.
What’s a little attempted murder between friends?

  3. I’ve just returned from navigating the various network news websites and AP contact form– asked them to report further on this, gave them some questions I would like answered, whether the factory knew Bush would move the thing toward people, and why they were not formed, and asking for a look at the president’s mental state.
“Criminally insane” a phrase I did not raise with them, but I do wonder.

  4. boy, that’s gonna indear him to the press.
i do think he IS close to snapping. georgie thinks he DESERVED that 90% approval.

  5. Why is it that this is the first I’ve heard of this?
It’s an ominously good analogy for some of his other policies: rev ‘er up and to blazes with the consequences, he’s having fun.

  6. Grandme’re Meme – are you saying that Bush reported a boyhood pastime of blowing up frogs? I ‘ve never heard of this. and would **love** a citation

  7. Here’s one of many Bush Blew Up Frogs As A Boy links:

“We were terrible to animals,’ recalled [Bush pal Terry] Throckmorton, laughing. A dip behind the Bush borne turned into a small lake after a good rain, and thousands of frogs would come out. `Everybody would get BB guns and shoot them,’ Throckmorton said. `Or we’d put firecrackers in the frogs and throw them and blow them up.'”

If Chimpy shot them in the face, they’d fall all over themselves apologizing for getting in the way of the buckshot.
Sociopath in the WH, meet the “Stockholm Syndrome” press. A match made in Hell.

  9. What is with him that he has to do all this play-acting and dress-up in his photo-ops? It’s all “Lookit me!” and “I wanna go for a ride!”
Just a few minutes googling and you can find George showing off to the press. The fighter jet on the aircraft carrier; the Border Patrol dune buggy; test-driving a Harley; riding his bike with Lance Armstrong; riding in a car with Pooty-Poot.
    What a fricking juvenile!
