Brian Williams Cat Blogging

More Brian Williams on bloggers via Think Progress

If we’re all watching cats flushing toilets, what aren’t we reading? What great writer are we missing? What great story are we ignoring?
This is societal, it’s cultural, I can’t change it. We should maybe
pause to think about it. Because like everybody else, I can burn an
hour on YouTube or Perez Hilton without breaking a sweat. And what have
I just not paid attention to that 10 years ago I would’ve just
consumed?”

Willie wanted to read today’s Obsession with the GAO

But noooo some blogger made him miss it for this…

  1. That is one cute kitten. Been thinking that ever since you first introduced her to the world but couldn’t stay quiet today. Must be the toilet…

  2. Big Oops and Oy on me. I wrote ‘her’ and changed it but not before Robert Dsquared’s comment.

  3. Oy, indeed. Very funny. I actually started to type “him” (Willie and all) but checked the post to verify. Didn’t want to make a gender assumption as I have had many pets through the years with names from many origins. I’ll certainly know from here on out.
Hope young Master Willie was not offended.

  4. Scout, you’re raising up little Willie wrong. None of this watching blogs and toilet flushing. His tiny little butt should be placed firmly in front of Brian Williams’ show to learn something important and serious.
I think you’re in love, girl, and it ain’t with Brian Williams.

  5. Well, now I guess I really do have to get into blogging, just so I can start a blog called “Vinnie’s Apartment.” Holden, I’ll be stealing the Obsession idea–“Vinnie’s Obsession with Brian Williams.” Lord knows, he’ll provide plenty of fodder.
Seriously, though, Brian seems more than a bit confused. People were watching cats flushing toilets, or the equivalent, long before blogging came along. Somehow I don’t think that the NBC Nightly News ever topped America’s Funniest Home Videos in the ratings battle. So is his issue with the fact that Americans are distracted by cute kittens, or is it that Americans don’t need him anymore because we get better news from the blogs?
I guess it doesn’t matter, though–nothing’s going to change either one.
