Soon To Be Known As “The Red Zone”

Green Zone hit again.

At least nine apparent mortar rounds slammed into the U.S.-controlled Green Zone on Wednesday, the second such attack in as many days, an official said. A U.S. Embassy spokesman said two Iraqis were killed and 10 people were wounded. No American casualties were reported.

The explosions occurred shortly before 4 p.m., about the same time the Green Zone was hit Tuesday.</i>

  1. If we want to make anything resembling an orderly withdrawal from Iraq, the time to start is NOW.

like the stentch swamp gas crawling in on a heavy fog-ladden night, you can smell the American-embassy-in-Saigon evacuation scene fixing its grip around the “Green Zone”. The tragedy is the large numbers of dead and wounded from now until it occurs.
