If the Founding Fathers came back and saw what’s going on, they’d never stop throwing up

From CBS

The poll finds American’s opinion of the country as a whole even more pessimistic.

IF THE FOUNDERS CAME BACK THEY WOULD BE…

Pleased

20%

Disappointed

72%

Many of those polled said the nation is on the wrong track – more
so today than ever before. Only 19 percent of Americans believe the
country is generally going in the right direction – the lowest number
recorded in a CBS News Poll since the question was first asked in 1983.

  1. Problem is, we don’t know what part of that 72% thinks they’d throw up because of all the illegal immigrants, gays, and restrictions on guns and tobacco (etc), versus those who think they’d throw up because of Iraq, the military-industrial-complex, unwarranted wiretapping, torture, restrictions on free speech (etc).
Heck, the founding fathers would probably be more than a little puzzled at the “rights” of corporations.

  2. We seem to be following the path of most of the great powers in world history as we descend into systemic corruption.

  3. Disappointed? How about pissed off? How about appalled? How about unspeakably angry?
Disappointed is MUCH too mild a word, IMO.
