Big thanks to Athenae and the First Drafters for honoring me with an invitation to blog here over the weekend. I had a lot of fun doing it and appreciated everyone’s comments.
Most of all, I want to take this opportunity to thank Scout for her consistently excellent coverage of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. The New Orleans and South Louisiana blogosphere is incredibly lucky to have her as a champion at First Draft. Selfishly, we feel profoundly indebted to her for her work, yet also never want her to stop. Or, more simply put:
We love you Scout–press on!
Cheers to the First Draft community. Keep it real, you wacky droogs.

Oh Oyster you’re so sweet. Thank you so much for filling in for me.
I hope folks will bookmark the great Oyster and visit him daily. His writing and analysis as well as sense of humor is top notch. And as always check out the NOLA blogroll in our sidebar. Great stuff on the Gret State and beyond.
I thank First Draft and Scout for giving Oyster another platform on which to vent at this very trying time – a dreary election came and went and really didn’t go as most NOLA bloggers would have hoped. I hope his time spent here at FD will result in more linky love coming his way and more folks proclaiming “What Would Oyster Do?” at the climax of ironic moments as a result of said linky love.
Y’all be well.
Scout is my hero.
Scout’s pretty cool. There are moments when I feel she could do to exercise better judgment regarding who she allows herself to beseen with publicly. Otherwise… she’s alright.
Nice job, oyster.
Scout rocks as for Oyster…he’s pretty swell too.
rock on Oyster!!!
