  1. tomatoes? you might be able to get plants. toms will be hothouse and they don’t taste much better. not that i eat them.

  2. A – Thanks so much for the shout out! Racked off 10 gal. of wine last night, should be ready for bottling in a couple of weeks. Next time we meet up I’ll have some things you have not tried yet.

  3. Here’s what I do and I don’t even miss fresh tomatoes all winter long. Buy a box of cherry tomatoes, rinse, toss with olive oil, kosher salt, pepper and the herb of your choice and roast in your toaster oven (you can broil them or do them at 450) until they are roasted, dry, and shriveled. They make incredible tomato jam. You can serve them as is as a side dish, or toss them into a fritatta where they are bursts of pure tomato flavor without the water to make the thing watery.

  4. Listen to mother nature, one eats fresh tomatoes, peaches and sweet corn in july, august and september. That’s it. I wait from october through june to eat the next. Makes em’ taste even better. Those things you find in the grocery store that look kind of like tomatoes the rest of the year aren’t really tomatoes.
