Bear Stearns CEO Remains Employed in Defiance of All Reason

Thank God he won’t miss a paycheck. I was so worried.

You know, I wouldn’t be so bitter about shit like this if it wasn’t for that if I sucked as much at my job as this guy did at his, I’d be fired, and there wouldn’t be any golden parachute, there’d just be me, and the box of my stuff they threw out the window after me.

  1. And while you are laying on the ground, I shall rifle through yer stuff, drink yer milkshake, etc.
    Consequences are for schmucks.

  2. See, that’s the difference between being a rich white male psychopath and being everyone else — when you’re the former, the skids are not just greased for you, there’s a lackey with a chamois rag carefully wiping them down with imported Italian single-estate organically-grown extra-extra-virgin olive oil in front of you at all times.

  3. The 10-figure amounts paid to Wall Street types, in good years and bad, are obscene.
I say this as an middle-class idiot who took former Goldman guy Jim Cramer’s advice and bought 10 shares of Goldman Sachs for my IRA last year.
I paid about $230, it’s now around $165, and the five top honchos at Goldman (at least, that’s all they admitted in their annual report) made substantially more than $20 million last year.
The greed of the corporate uber-class really knows no bounds.
Goldman is not the only example of nearly criminal executive greed that is screwing millions of shareholders, and dooming many people’s retirement.
All of us are subsidizing the Bears Stearns’ bail-out as taxpayers, and most of us are subsidizing a lot more corporate executive theft of shareholder value via our IRAs, 401(k)s, and pension funds.
There’s a class war going on, and the middle and lower classes are losing.
    Big time.

  4. Looks like folks at Bear Stearns (and JP Morgan and Uncle Sammie) are working a simple equivalency:
    1 CEO = 7000 ordinary employees.
Fire the 7000. Keep the one.
Pay the one about as much as goes to the 7000, too, in total.
How can we afford these people?

  5. If I had made in the last year what that fuckpipe made, I would be retired.
Fer chrissake, when to these greedy assholes have enough?
There i go again about that class war socialist bullshit.
    Shame on me.
