  1. On an NPR interview today, they make the point that the large hispanic population in the SW may be represent a problem to containing Swine flu due to a combination of their ties to Mexico, fear of the authorities, and lack of ability to pay for doctor visits.
Well, who has led such strong crack-downs that even the legal hispanics are afraid to show up at the Doctor? Who knew the immigration debate had public health implications?
And who knew that the healthcare reform debate had implications to us all in trying to contain a disease?

  2. Good one, Southern Beale. Libraries are a lifeline. Worst time to cut them off.

Um … us? About 60% of the US population?

  4. Hoo and Pansy,
in the paper yesterday (I assume from AP), 1/2 page article about how if you don’t have sick days, you can’t stay home if you’re sick. You can’t keep your kid home from school if they are sick – as that would mean you’d have to take a day off.
Maybe the 25% may get it eventually just out of self interest?
