Friday Catblogging: Blast From The Past

You’ve the met current group so it’s time for a waltz down kitty memory lane. This week’s star is Pogo who died 2 years ago. She was the best natured critter I ever knew. Nothing bothered her: she never hid from company, she assumed they were there to see her. Even our Katrina exile didn’t phase her: she reckoned it was just another way for her to meet and greet her fans. It was like touring with a furry rock star, no, strike that: a Queen.

Below are three pictures of Pogo in her natural habitat: the sofa. In the last picture she has a Carnival time cuddle with our good friends Alexis and George akaLoki of Humid City fame.

  1. Awww…sweet Pogo! I have a kitty who is much the same as Pogo. Her name is Minnie Pearl and she is the star of the house. Make no mistake about it.

  2. I have a cat very much like that — his name is Nero and he’s about the sweetest-tempered cat I’ve ever met, and has a slow charisma leak besides. Unfortunately, Mr. Congeniality has a lymphoma on his leg, and I’m trying to decide what to do from here — treatment means a very expensive amputation; no treatment means a slow, lingering death, and he’s 13 years old or so already. (I has a bigg, bigg sad… 🙁 )
The vets at the clinic at the University of Guelph say he’s the only cat they’ve ever seen who didn’t need to be sedated to have an abdominal ultrasound. My friend Sanders opined that was because he’s kinky; I just figured he thought it was some kind of hopped-up belly rub…
