This year, during a lot of conferences and meetings and summits and “whither journalism” discussions that basically had very little to do with blogging to which I went anyway, people kept asking about the business model. What’s your business model? What’s your plan? How do you intend to make money at what you do?
My short answer was, back in July, I have no freaking idea, but my longer one is that the work done here, the parsing of media ridiculousness and the discussion of what matters that goes on here every day, is supported by those who read and enjoy it. Supported to whatever extent those readers see fit. I’m so grateful that all of you who contributed already feel this place has value to you, and ask that if you haven’t yet given, you considerdoing so.
