Quote of the day

I’ve been missing the suave and deft touch of the Captain Queeq of national politics, John McCain aka Senator Walnuts. Ole John got involved in the Romney tax return meltdown by assuring that Mitt Offshore’s taxes had nothing to do with his missing the Veepstakes cut in ’08:

“McCain called the tax claims “outrageous” and “disgraceful” in an interview with Politico Tuesday. He said he chose Palin “because we thought that Sarah Palin was the better candidate.”

One would have thought that the crazy/cranky gentleman from Arizona would be familiar with the term “damning with faint praise.” But apparently, he’s not. Thanks, Senator. I’ll get off your lawn now…

This quote should send Free Republic into an uncertain tizzy – and make Monday’s tiptoe through the Freepers especially fun.

Wow, talk about channeling Ike’s ‘recommendation’ of Tricky Dicky.
BTW, I think I found the video of McCain’s Veep vetting process.
Unconventional, yet strangely compelling, given other competitors.

It was political stunt casting, and McCain hasn’t gotten nearly as much blame for it as he deserves. The minute that election ended the way everybody knew it was going to end, Sarah Palin became the subject of bitter post-campaign bitching from all Republican corners whining that the stupid girl ruined everything. Erm, you hired her, fuckos. Buck stops with you.
I mean, far be it from me to defend anything Palin actually does, but McCain lost himself that election and lost it ugly, either by picking her in the first place, or by then letting her run things when that job belonged to him alone.
    A.
