Republicans were never going to dump Akin, not really. Sure, they made a show of abhorring what he said, but in the end, he’s still not a Damnable Liberal, and so the 27 percent of people who’d vote for a syphillitic hamster if it had an R shaved into its fur will turn out, and the bright lights of the party will support him, and all will be as it was.
A.
um, duh. wait til he’s out of the gnews.
1 ) So are you implying that the repubs weren’t truthful about pulling back on support? But instead just wanted to pacify the dumb masses till they cooled down?
2) Local TV News also reported this weekend that Santorum was a VIP at a stop of a bus tour against homosexual marriages in SE Iowa. So its not like he made a special trip here. Also, I keep trying to find it – something in the back of my head has Santorum connected to a sex scandal but I can’t find it.
3) Normally, we Missourians proudly tell the politicians that we make up our own minds. We don’t need the Politicians from DC coming and telling us how to think or vote. Many of our current candidates made that clear in their campaign ads. Of course, there seem to be exceptions for DeMint, Santorum, and other ultra-rights.
… something in the back of my head has Santorum connected to a sex scandal but I can’t find it…
It was John Ensign.Santorum warned Ensign that the cuckold husband of his mistress was about to go public with it. It was all part of that creepy C-Street Christian Club, where so many of the hi-profile sex scandals seemed to stem.

Tengrain. That is it.
What a guy to come to Iowa in defense of marriage. /snark
