  1. Oooh, a “midnite” show. Spooky! Scary! On . . . DECEMBER 26TH?!
I wonder why they’d have their show the day after Christmas? Of course, all the young uns are out of school, but Christmas for the Big Horror & Magic Stage Show?
According to my handy-dandy perpetual calendar, Dec. 26 came on a Tuesday in 1933 (too early, I’d guess), 1939 (ditto), 1944 (probably not, there was plenty of horror in real life), 1950 or 1961.

  2. {Embarrassed} Shoulda check on Lugosi’s vital statistics and figured out he wasn’t in any shape to put on a show in 1961. I am intrigued by the “Vampire Maiden Burned Alive.”
Seems like a lot of show for just a dollar. I’d have gone.

  3. No worries. I didn’t look it up since I remembered that Bela died during the filming of Plan 9 From Outer Space. That was the, uh, final Ed Wooden stake in the old junkie’s heart.
