I really hope people stop obsessively trying to discredit polls.
They aren’t gospel, but in the last two elections they have been fairly
accurate, and if anything, slightly republican leaning.Go back and
check the RCP final poll average for the 2010 Senate races – 20 of 23
correctly senate seats picked correctly. Of the the 3 that were
incorrect, 2 dems won instead of the predicted republican, and the last
was Murkowski beating Miller in Alaska. And obviously, polls were better
than GOP cheerleaders this time as well.

The dumbest thing I hear around here is “no one polled me.”

We didn’t understand why Obama won in 2008. We thought maybe
people wanted to give him a chance, he would be historic first black,
post partisan and all that hopey stuff. Then they’d get over it.

Maybe he won because they really wanted a leftist.

unemployment, the Bradley Effect, PA is winnable for the GOP, women like
white men, all those “left-leaning” polls are in the tank for Obama,
“fraud” won the election, John Roberts and Chris Christie are on our

Reality: We are anachronistic outliers in a country we don’t

This type of thing

Quite simple, the GOP needs to drop the social zealots and stop
ignoring the minirities. The GOP can not win the whithouse by only
relying on white males.

75% of the Latino vote went to Obama. 93+% of the black vote went for
Obama. I’m not sure about the female vote, but that went for Obama as
well.

Until those numbers change, the Democrats own the whitehouse from now
until the end of time. Start by kicking the bedroom police arm of the
GOP to the curb.

This is the last time I will be voting in a national election. I am
in my 60’s and have concluded that, if this is the kind of governing
Americans want, they should have it…and all its consequences.

Sour
grapes you say? Perhaps. But after four years of the most abysmally
failed government with consistently high unemployment, 16 trillion
dollars in national debt, downgrading of our bonds and monetary system
with printing of dollars by the Fed, attacks against freedom of
religion, a loss of American leadership in the world, class warfare,
homosexuality embedded in our fabric, our nuclear family deconstructed
by government policies, gun running to Mexico and lies about it before
Congressional hearings, refusal to protect Americans serving in our
embassies across the globe, an energy policy that has tripled the price
of gasoline at the pump, a Justice Dept that treats people not according
to an equal application of the law but according to politics, a
politicized press that is derelict in adequately informing the people
about its government, attacks against free markets and capitalism, and
on and on and on…

If given all this, the American electorate is
either too blind to see or thinks that this exemplifies good
government, then have at it. Just count me out.

But, some day
perhaps people will wake up. My guess is that it will be too late and
things most cherished – civic values long held dear – will be gone
forever.

In the meantime, this retiree will collect his pension
and social security and together with savings watch those younger and
smaller in number figure out how they will pay for all the ‘government
hand-outs’ and supportive services the ‘baby boomer’ generation that is
about to retire will require. All the time doing so without the tax
revenue on the income they earned while working. They will have to
figure out how they, a very much smaller cohort of taxpayers will make
up the difference.

They will need to come up with some better
ideas than one Barack Obama and his list of accomplishments from 2008 to
present. Good luck but you won’t be seeing me at the polls ever again.
It’s been a ride. Adios, Americanos.

PREPARING FOR POST OBAMA ELECTION

Posted on Thursday, November 08, 2012 12:42:21 PM byparatrooper82

Today, I instructed my wife to prepare for post Obama election by doing the following:

1. Close out our bank accounts, checking accounts, savings account.

And do what exacty with the money? Eat it?

2. Eliminate and exist from all medical service programs, insurance, and destroy all medical records and ID numbers.

That would be a neat trick, erasing all that data from several thousand datbases.

3. Destroy and toss all cell phones.

Because of the microwaves and the brain cancer. Prolly too late on that one, IMHO.

4. Take out and smash all black boxes in our vehicles. Will put on the road my 69 mustaang.

That makes sense, especially the first part. Does your wife know that this will keep the vehicles from starting?

5. Cut up all credit cards and call to stop all transactions.

I had to tell my ex-wife to do that, too. It’s one of the reasons she’s my ex-wife.

6. Call and stop propane gas shipments, will now burn firewood. Already have more than 500 cord stacked as a backup.

(His fellow Freepers take the piss out of this “500 cords” business later in the thread)

7. Buy only the bare necessaities and pay all bills with a money order.

I thought you erased all records of yourself back in steps 1 and 2?

8. Plan all travel areas, use back roads to avoid TSA agents.

Won’t work. They have burrowing submarines that can pace your Mustang.

9. Do not use landline telephone only in an emergency.

Like that call from Doomsday Preppers telling you that: Sorry, you’re too crazy – even for them,

10. Call and turn off Direct TV.

What? And miss this season of Homeland?

11. End all computer web services.

Starting right n

12.
Build a gate at the end of our driveway and keep it locked. Inform all
friends and relatives to call first prior to a visit so the gate can be
unlocked.

Carrier pidgeons? You destroyed your cell phones and can’t pay your landline bill because they no longer have any record of you and terminated your service.

13. Get involved more heavily with local Tea Party to establish a third party, no more money to the GOP under any circumstance!

Hard to do that with no internet access or phones, innit?

The list may be updated to include other more secret actions that the government need not know about here!

2010 Flashback: Next for GOP leaders: Stopping Sarah Palin

Politico ^

Posted on Wednesday, November 07, 2012 3:32:47 AM byTimber Rattler

Top Republicans in Washington and in the national GOP establishment
say the 2010 campaign highlighted an urgent task that they will begin in
earnest as soon as the elections are over: Stop Sarah Palin.

Interviews with advisers to the main 2012 presidential contenders and
with other veteran Republican operatives make clear they see themselves
on a common, if uncoordinated, mission of halting the momentum and
credibility Palin gained with conservative activists by plunging so
aggressively into this year’s midterm campaigns.

There is rising
expectation among GOP elites that Palin will probably run for president
in 2012 and could win the Republican nomination, a prospect many of them
regard as a disaster in waiting.

(snip)

“There is a
determined, focused establishment effort … to find a candidate we can
coalesce around who can beat Sarah Palin,” said one prominent and
longtime Washington Republican. “We believe she could get the
nomination, but Barack Obama would crush her.”

The GOP-e really thought that a billionaire with Wall St. ties

in the park for the Communists.

Conservatives could see it coming, but by and large, held their noses
and voted Republican anyway. This can’t be blamed on us. It can be
blamed on people like Carl Rove and Charles Krauthammer, who disdain
Sarah Palin as a country bumpkin. She helped McCain pull about six
million more votes than Romney got. So much for their vaunted
“expertise.”

We got too complacent.

Popular won’t save us…

I guess you take it wrong. If I don’t nod in agreement, I am not part of a movement?

The TEA party isn’t a bus, a website or any of that. That is a group of people trying to capture it for $$$$.

If true, Sarah beat “GOP leaders” to the punch and stopped herself.

We had a weak field, which doesn’t give those who didn’t deign to enter the race a free ride on the outcome.

That is your ignorance speaking, you do not remember the too
close to the Palin niche that he filled, which would have forced her
into having to fight him for the nomination as Romney watched and
destroyed all conservative chances. Perry made it impossible for her to
join and to win the nomination, and he ruined her position as the only
person in America who could take the nomination from Romney. Perry
couldn’t replace her, but he could and did, block her from entering.

The establishment has been fighting her since August 2008.

But you got your Romney, so be happy.

Poor Sarah, the big mean boys tricked and thwarted her presidency.

Please. Run that one past Sarah and see what she says.

What is your excuse for her not getting in before Perry?

Run that one past her also.

No, I won’t shut my “piehole”— if that is what it is, fine, ban me.

I don’t walk zombie step. Palin would NOT have won. Get over it or delude yourself.

Palin would NOT have won this election, if she thought she would—she
would have run. But send some money…it will make you feel better.

I bet you five dollars she would say the same.

Paul Ryan Left Red-Faced After Obama Sweeps His Home State Of Wisconsin…As Democrats Ride To Victory In Joe Biden’s Delaware

7 November 2012

Mitt
Romney’s vice presidential pick Paul Ryan in the end failed to help his
running mate win the White House, and to add insult to injury, the
rising star of the Republican Party was left embarrassed after losing
his home state of Wisconsin.

However, the congressman’s night was
not a complete loss as he easily won re-election to the U.S. House seat
he has held since 1998 and received a ringing endorsement from his
running mate.

In his concession speech early Wednesday morning,
Romney lavished praised on his would-be vice president for all he has
done for their campaign.

What did Ryan do for the campaign? He didn’t even bring his own
state! He bombed in his one debate and killed Mitt’s momentum from the
first prez debate.

Rubio would have delivered FL and maybe Portman Ohio. Fat Christie wouldn’t have hugged Obama if he was the Veep.

So Ryan turned out to be the worst possible choice. His economic
vision is not one shared by the majority of our freeloading voters

‘’Romney is electable.’
Same fraud as 4 years before…

‘’McCain is electable.’

Then again, I have to admit, at the time, when the race, after rolling
through liberal state after liberal state, and open primary after open
primary, when it boiled down to a bunch of liberals, it did even cause
me to say that the field actually made McCain look appealing.

And
so we gathered around our RINO Trojan horse, berated any conservative
as being an ‘Obama voter’ who spoke out against the liberal candidate,
and said to vote for evil, err, the lessor of two evils, to ‘get Obama
out.’ And we tried to convince ourselves that Romney’s bizarre pick
which might calm a few fiscal hawks who’d probably end up voting for
Romney anyway was ‘a game changer’ that would put Wisconsin in as a
swing state.

And then we watched a billion dollars go down the
drain. Admittedly, this is only 6 hours of debt from the Obama
administration, and only counts the money spent by the campaigns, not
the hundreds of millions spent by taxpayers to support Obama’s parties.

All to see a great contest of a liberal against a liberal. But it made
for some surreal moments.. ‘I’m against Romney because he hates gays.’
‘Romney’s going to destroy ObamaCare!’ Or the real whopper, ‘Romney’s
going to nominate conservative Supreme Court justices!’

Little
enthusiasm from conservatives, not a little bit of Mormon factor, and
judicious use of class warfare doomed the campaign. Remember kids, only
Democrats are allowed to be rich, as they lavish tons of taxpayer money
on failed agendas, vs conservatives who pony up their own bucks only to
be told that they’re cold, heartless, and are the entire problem.

Mission accomplished, Governor Romney. Pocket your 2.4 million dollars
from campaign funds and then drain more from the suckers who are going
to pay to hear you tell them how America got it wrong.

I think the same people behind McCain’s campaign must have led
Mitt wrong. He didn’t hit back at Obama on so many levels, thinking a
positive campaign was going to do the trick. Be the nice guy, blah, blah,
blah. That worked so well for McCain as well.

I don’t know what happened in this election, but I have a feeling
that it wasn’t an honest one. Not that it matters now. Well, the idiots
voted and won – so, let them have the crow to eat when things go worse
for this country.

That is the only thing that gives me some consolation. I feel like
ice water has been thrown over me
. This doesn’t feel right and we can
blame this one and that one – I just don’t know what to think. Its
unreal!

Don’t worry though, the GOP is drooling at the chance to run Jeb Bush for President in 2016.With a financial crash guaranteed before then, Jeb is now a mortal lock
to win the nomination and probably also the election in 2016, with
Rubio as his VP. That won’t fix the damage, but the Democrats have no
bench and their likely nominee will be someone like Evan Bayh, who isn’t
going to bring the leeches out in droves like Obama did.

Running another Bush? Think everyone will have forgotten about thelast one by then?
Well, this has definitely been an enjoyable week on the Freeper beat – and we didn’t even get into the wonderful thread entitled:
See you guys in a couple of weeks,,,,

  1. Oh my. The well-placed Joe Biden laugh photo was epic! Plus the butthurt from the Freepers…I promised that I would not make fun of rank-and-file R’s after the election but I have to make an exception for most of this crew.

  2. There is rising expectation among GOP elites that Palin will probably run for president in 2012 and could win the Republican nomination, a prospect many of them regard as a disaster in waiting.
As I am wont to say — words fail me.
    Also — HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  3. The survivalist types always crack me up. Most of them couldn’t hunt to save their lives. I doubt if they own A gun, let alone any guns which would subject them to any kind of federal restrictions. Maybe a Super Soaker.
The ones you have to worry about are not the ones posting shit like this on FR. They’re the ones already off the grid in Idaho or wherever.
    A.

  4. Somewhat disappointing, actually. I was expecting meltier meltdowns-blood on the walls, veins in the teeth, more entertaining Galtian flounces.
Freepers I am disappoint. The Anti-Christ was popularly elected, the Black Panthers are coming for your lilly white voting fraud asses, women are defiantly throwing their uteruses at your feet, and the persecuted Christian church in America is being dumped en mass into a cosmic lion’s den. And a deranged paratrooper wannabe who can’t even count wood is all you got????
*shakes head sadly* I expected sooooo much more.
    😉

  5. I saw a link to the “Preparing for Post Obama Election” a couple of days ago and I was rolling. I’m so glad to see it here. I figured it would surely make the cut (thanks Monkeyfister & Adrastos). I read the whole thread (too much fun to watch them eat one of their own) and my favorite part is the answer to the question “How will you post on FR and keep in touch with the Tea Party without internet?” His answer, I kid you not:

Have you ever heard of a Public L-I-B-R-A-R-Y?

Go ahead, try to wrap your head around that bit of irony.

  6. Tommy, I forgot to thank you for your twofer FR posts. They have been the cherry on top of my perfect sundae of a week.

  7. My god, I would love it if Palin got the nomination in 2016. Aside from the fact that it would give the Democrats an easy win, it would just be so schadenfreudelicious to read the freepers trying to figure out why the rest of America hates Super-Sarah the Power-Palin.
Also, I’m doing everything I can to encourage the wingnuts to keep up their “makers-vs.-takers” bullshit. Every wingnut who whines about Obamaphones and minorities who want everything for free is going GOTV work for the Democrats.

  8. The GOP-e really thought that a billionaire with Wall St. ties would be a great candidate during a depression. […] Conservatives could see it coming, but by and large, held their noses and voted Republican anyway.
So… they were right? They knew that for all of your bluster, you’d fall in line when the time comes?
    Imagine that.

  9. “it would just be so schadenfreudelicious to read the freepers trying to figure out why the rest of America hates Super-Sarah the Power-Palin”
Even the Freeperati are beginning to realize that the filla from Wasilla is just another grifter.
This would have been cause for some BAN HIM action just 4 years ago.
    Tommy

  10. Wow a few of them are sane and actually realized what the real Republican problem is with respect to most of the electorate, and they constantly got belittled and ridiculed. The question :Is our Freepers learning? The Answer seems to be : Hell No!
I’m cutting some of them some slack, the despair they are feeling, that was me in 2004. And that really would have been me Nov6, if Obama had lost.
And some of the ones picking on paratrooper were just funny, snarky. And I love the CNTRL-GALT-DEL sig line. But does dude really have some land mines? If so, I think a little visit from the ATF should happen.
Thanks for the double duty, TommyT!

  11. There won’t be a btu left in that wood by the time he gets round to burning it.
I was delighted to hear so many of them determined to shirk their civic duty in the mid terms.
I wonder if d00d’s wife hopped to and carried out her assignments or simply told him to GTF over it already.
Thanks Tommy. Be sure to scrub behind your ears. Twice in the sludge tank in less than a week! Criminy!

  12. Thanks, guys – I’ll see you in a couple of weeks – my band Habitual is playing one of its infrequent shows this Saturday – looking forward to some rock-and-roll therapy to blow the Freeperati muck out.
    Tommy

  13. @Breny, as a librarian I always appreciate how libraries are seen as fulfilling all sorts of needs. But am always dismayed that people don’t realize that it takes money to run them (and people don’t realize that they are a shining example of govt that works.).

  14. The whole thing is priceless. But Please take care of your hands.
I especially love how the survivalist talks about the IRS turning up and asking for the numbers of your bank accounts. Doesn’t realize that banks have long required a SS number so they could report income. And that under Bush II the un-Patriot Act put more severe requirements on banks and what they could accept or not accept.
I can’t get my mind around the mental gymnastics of how Nste Silver was a source of bad info, by being right while the pundits were running an echo chamber that was wrong.
And I totally can’t understand how the freeper types get away with proclaiming that they are the real lovers of America (and the liberals don’t love their country as much) while after the election the freepers are talking seccession (can you say treason and sedition are the true marks of loving one’s country?).
