Krauthammer’s Pork Rape

A gentle reminder that hundreds of newspaperspay this man for his syndicated column, while the journalism industry as a whole whines that there is no money for journalism anymore.

“I think what Boehner did in postponing the vote until today was absolutely right,” he said on “Special Report.” “That was a rape of the Treasury. $60 billion, including a ton of pork. The part that was essential that passed today was to replenish the flood insurance. That’s right, and the rest ought to be debated in regular order.”

First of all, you know what is like rape? Rape. Everything else? Not like rape. Like something else. It’s not a complicated rule. I’m not an abnormally bright girl so if I can learn this, Charles Krauthammer certainly should be able to grok it eventually.

Second, and this offends me just as much: A ton of pork. To do trivial things like rebuild people’s houses and, you know, FEED THEM. This is pork to some privileged Washington asshole who’s never going to miss a meal because a hundred years ago he said something intelligent and they’ve been paying him to say stupid shit ever since.

  1. I challenge you to cite a single intelligent thing Krauthammer said within the past 100 years. I won’t hold my breath.

  2. How come we don’t hear these same people railing about the $70M in pork that was given to NASCAR in the “cliffhanger” bill? Joe Sixpack doesn’t have a problem with this kind of socialism? Will we see teabaggers holding misspelled signs that condemn “Government NASCAR”?

  3. He’s also someone whose mobility around town has been greatly enhanced by all those curb cuts that weren’t mandated until the American Congress passed that socialist piece of legislation called the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

  4. Robo, I’ll take you up on that. Below the linked to story is a series of links to other articles. First one is Krauthammer at the National Review saying Sandy wouldn’t affect the election.
Only problem was that Obama was in the lead before Sandy and probasbly would have won without Sandy. But Krauthammer was in the midst of the misinformation that Romney would be a landslide.

  5. I keep expecting to see a lizard tongue flicker out of that mouth and sniff the air.
I guess he also thinks that business of tipping his head back and looking down his nose at the world makes him look like Bill Buckley.
    It doesn’t.
