Tebowite Twittiness

My favorite story for a Monday morning, from George Diaz of the Orlando Sentinel:

The economy is on the upswing, but there remains some disconcerting signs:

Tim Tebow is still unemployed.

No worries. His whacko fan-base is on the case, appealing to PresidentObama to resolve this crisis immediately.

Yes, they have filed a petition on theWhite House‘s ‘We the People’ website, asking President Obama to callJacksonville Jaguars general managerDavid Caldwell, demanding that he sign Tebow.

I am not making this up.

Here’s the official petition: “Jacksonville Jaguars fans want the
team to sign recently released QB Tim Tebow. However, rookie general
manager for the Jacksonville Jaguars David Caldwell is blocking this
from happening. If the Jaguars sign & START Tebow, home games will
be sold out, sales will spike, the team will win and the fans will be
happy. Mr. Caldwell is ignoring lots of facts about the misunderstood
Tim Tebow while in Denver: Passer rating of 125.6 is highest ever inBroncos postseason history. Most yards per completion (31.6) inNFL
playoff history.100.5 QB rating is best ever for a Broncos QB in his
first start. Third most passing yards in a game by a Bronco rookie QB.
(308, in his 2nd start), First 15+ point comeback in the final 3 minutes
of an NFL game since the merger,7 game winning drives in just 16
games!”

Dontcha love asking them this of a President that Timmeh clearly voted against? Thus far there are only 144 signatures on this deeply idiotic petition. Diaz’s piece, on the other hand is hilarious. It was worth at least 1 cup of coffee on the wake me up meter. Muchas gracias.

Since I heard Fleetwood Mac’s Jazz Fest set from the Acura stage annex and it’s, well, Monday Morning, here’s a wee jolt of rock and roll:

  1. If you try to click through to the petition, it turns out that N0BAMMERZ has already thwarted the will of the Tebots with his “Terms of Participation” and “Moderation Policy”, neither of which allow petitions that are unrelated to the functions of the federal government, apparently. Obviously, this is some kind of nefarious Kenyo-Muslimo-Indianesian plot to thwart the NFL career of Our Lord’s Less Talented Son.

  2. Sorry I missed you at the Fest. Ended up going Sunday instead of Saturday, but had fun. First and probably only time I’ll wear a long sleeved shirt and light jacket.
The big stages and the tents looked to have really large crowds. First time I remember people all along the track on the backstretch.
