One reader pointed out a sad irony: “Two years into Queen Elizabeth’s reign, mathematician and scientist Alan Turing committed suicide after undergoing court-ordered hormone therapy for his homosexuality.”
And then there’s this little bit of trivia: “A wedding in the UK has to be held under a permanent roof. That is specifically defined as any building that has a concrete foundation. It is the reason that you see so many heavy duty gazebos in large parks around here, because you aren’t allowed to get married outside (without a sturdy roof over your head).”
