OK – let’s get on with it. I was watching Freeperville Thursday morning, waiting for the shit that had already hit the fan everywhere else in the word to finally bob to the surface in Jim (I earned my goverment hoverround) Rob’s sandbox.
When it did, it was almost with a sigh, and a deceptively complimentary headline:

Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.
“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Wow. Can’t believe there were reasonable heads on that subject. Funny that they wanted proof, but FOX wasn’t mentioning it, so they were totally in the dark. Most people learn their lesson after getting burned once or twice. These people appear to defy that trend.
iceblue2 – actually, the horrified reasonable types were in the minority.
The majority of the posts were of the “He’s 100% correct. More people need to say it!!” bent.
Right now, they’re screaming canards about getting flak when you’re over the target, and that two black people, one of them Cliven’s employee, don’t think he’s a racist.
No word on whether or not Cliven rubbed their heads appreciatively for backing him…

WOW! One question about the quotes: Where does the word “Negro” appear in the name of the NAACP? Silly me, I thought the N was for National so one of the As must stand for “Negro”?
And definitely as Iceblue2 said. Along those lines, the locals here kept commenting that there was only one assault rifle at the Bundy party. (Totally ignoring all the video that was made there.) I’d like to think it it wholly “invicible ignorance” depending solely on the words of Faux News. But I also can’t ignore that one of the strategies the repubs and especially tea bag group have used is to continually come up with new lies and insist that the left do all the fact checking. Only problem is that in the few minutes it takes to fact check and find the statements debunked, they come up with new claims – leaving the left to stand there speechless. Kind of a variant at throwing all of it at the fan and seeing if anything sticks.
