All roads lead to Muswell Hillbillies when it comes to my Kinks fandom. After writing an epic post that took Days, I decided to “cut out the struggle and strife, it only complicates your life” and do a Kinks week post with only one cover.

Preservation Hall’s take on Complicated Life was all the rage in NOLA when it was released in 2007. I like it but definitely prefer the original. It’s hard to top Ray’s vocal and Dave’s slide guitar. Without further adieu, ladies and germs, the Kinks:
