Morning, good people!

This is going to be a short one – trying to heal up enough to enjoy vacation for the next couple of weeks.

First up –take a hike!

National Republicans are pulling the plug on Mark Sanford’s suddenly
besieged congressional campaign, POLITICO has learned — a potentially
fatal blow to the former South Carolina governor’s dramatic comeback
bid.

Blindsided by news that Sanford’s ex-wife has accused him of
trespassing and concluding he has no plausible path to victory, the
National Republican Congressional Committee has decided not to spend
more money on Sanford’s behalf ahead of the May 7 special election.

*************************

Blindsided? Knowing that scumbag’s history and they’re acting surprised? Too late to save the House seat. Epic fail.

A few years ago he had a good shot at winning the GOP nomination
for president and now he can not even get the support of his own party
to win a House seat.

He is the GOP’s John Edwards.

Not really.
Edwards had better hair.

Now he finally has time to hike the Appalachian Trail.

If he were a RAT he’d be a victim and a hero. That’s the difference between them and us.

UPDATE:The
governor’s office issued a statement Monday afternoon: “Gov. Sanford is
taking some time away from the office this week to recharge after the
stimulus battle and the legislative session, and to work on a couple of
projects that have fallen by the wayside. We are not going to discuss
the specifics of his travel arrangements or his security arrangements.”

The whereabouts of Gov. Mark Sanford have been unknown to state
officials since Thursday, and some state leaders are questioning who is
in charge of the executive office.

I pray he is not resigning or worse… He’s been standing strong through so much crap in SC.

I smell a cooked up HIT PIECE with a nice misquote of his wife to add a special flavor.

The Columbia rag is a dedicated left wing Dem propaganda sheet stocked
full of recent lobotomized journalism student leftists from USC
Columbia.

He has been the most outspoken critic of Obama. He has been frequently mentioned as a possible candidate for President in 2012.

Now he is missing. This is scary. This is not some anonymous Gov.
from a minor state. This is one of the top five plausible replacements
for Obama in the next election.

Let us hope that it turns out to be something like him visiting the troops.

Worst case is that it’s an Arkencide. Or a kidnapping/ drugging / setup designed to neutralize him in place with a ‘honey trap’.

LOl

Guy goes out on a hunting/fishing/backpacking/whatever trip to down a few 6pacs with his buds – and it is a crisis?

Our Governor is gone all the time and with the Legislature out of session – it’s common.

BTW the Kings are running big this year.

Yeah – lotsa difference.

I’ll send him money if he asks…

we need ALL the pubs we can get, even the flawed ones…

funny
how he was supported wildly here until his affair came up, then whammo,
the holier than thou conservatives want him tarred and feathered…

we need him…we need him badly even with his sin…

we all sin in some way…

Don’t fall for that. Republicans nominated him fair and square. I
know many folks who are strong bible-believers, greatest generation
folks, pro-military, pro-life and rinos who willing voted for him twice
during the primaries. We’re getting exactly what we deserved.
