SALT LAKE CITY — Congressman Jason Chaffetz said he is withdrawing his support for Donald Trump Friday after a video surfaced showing the Republican candidate for president making vulgar remarks in 2005 about touching and kissing women without their consent.
Chaffetz, a Republican representing Utah’s Third Congressional District, appeared on Fox 13 News at Nine Friday, saying: “I’m out. I can no longer in good conscience endorse this person for president. It is some of the most abhorrent and offensive comments that you can possibly imagine.”
Rep. Chaffetz said he and his wife have a 15-year-old daughter, and he said if he can’t look her in the eye and tell her about what Trump said he can’t endorse the man.
While Chaffetz said he isn’t sure who he will vote for, he said he won’t be voting for Hillary Clinton and added that it’s a shame Mike Pence isn’t at the top of the ticket. He also said Trump’s response to the criticism was an apology for getting caught, not an apology for his behavior.
Earlier Friday, Utah Gov. Gary Herbert also reacted to the footage and stated he would not vote for Donald Trump.

Ryan reportedly dis-invited Trump from the event. Saturday’s event would have been the first time Trump and Ryan campaigned together since they both attended the Republican National Convention in July. Ryan, who has a positive rating with women in Wisconsin, has had a contentious relationship with the billionaire businessman since endorsing him in June.

So one of the more confusing things about this “locker-room” conversation has been the number of men claiming that they have never heard anything like this, in a locker room or anyplace else. I went to public schools and played on a couple of teams, and after that I worked in several all-male environments and I am very sad to report that this kind of objectifying trash talk is common. I hear it on my ride to work on the morning train. Thing is, it is always the same type of guy; the strutting dipwad who brags about all the women he nails but then gets pissed when his wife “becomes a whore” (yes that is me quoting one very special a$$h@le). The Donald just happens to be that guy in spades.
So the Freepers may be a lot of things (being wrong about everything encompasses about 99% of that whole), but you have to give them props when they observe that this kind of sleazy trash talk is nothing special. The difference is that they just don’t see it as a problem in real life or in a president. If they thought it mattered then they would be wrong about that too.
If Trump had said “women throw themselves at me because I’m a star” or “women ask me to grab their pussy”, that would be locker room talk. “I don’t even wait” and “I can’t help myself” is rapey, entitled asshole talk.
