Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – “be careful what you wish for” edition

Well, good people, the Freeperati have gotten everything they’ve always wanted.

Or have they?

Remember Mitt Romney? The Mitt Romney that could get your thrown off Free Republic if you supported him? The Mitt Romney you Freepers hate with every fiber of your twisted beings?

Mitt Romney Is Preparing Apology to Trump – Is Very Interested in Secretary of State Job

Former Governor Romney was one of Donald Trump’s harshest critics during the election. He assisted his opponents and was essentially working to get Hillary Clinton elected.

Donald Trump met with Mitt Romney in New Jersey last week. Sources said he was interviewing for the Secretary of State position with the Trump administration.

Trump supporters HATE the idea.

Now this… Transition Team sources told Ed Henry from FOX News that Mitt Romney is preparing a public apology. Mitt Romney is reportedly very interested in the Secretary of State job.

Trump should make a sincere apology from Romney a requisite for the job…wait until Romney apologizes, then don’t give him the job.

I really can’t believe Romney is being considered in the least. He degraded Mr. Trump continuously.

Does the nation lack good leaders to the extent that Romney is even an option?

Trump, In Interview, Moderates Views but Defies Conventions [Doesn’t Believe In Waterboarding]

Trump, In Interview, Moderates Views but Defies Conventions By MICHAEL D. SHEAR, JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS and MAGGIE HABERMAN NOV. 22

Donald J. Trump on Tuesday with Arthur O. Sulzberger Jr., the publisher of The New York Times, right. Credit Hiroko Masuike/The New York Times President-elect Donald J. Trump tempered on Tuesday some of his most extreme campaign promises, dropping his vow to jail Hillary Clinton, expressing doubt about the value of torturing terrorism suspects and pledging to have an open mind about climate change.

But in a wide-ranging hourlong interview with reporters and editors at The New York Times — which was scheduled, canceled and then reinstated after a dispute over the ground rules — Mr. Trump was unapologetic about flouting some of the traditional ethical and political conventions that have long shaped the American presidency.

He said he had no legal obligation to establish boundaries between his (snip)

He displayed a jumble of impulses, many of them conflicting. He was magnanimous toward Mrs. Clinton, but boastful about his victory. He was open-minded about some of his positions, uncompromising about others.

The interview demonstrated the volatility in Mr. Trump’s positions.

He said he had no interest in pressing for Mrs. Clinton’s prosecution over her use of a private email server or for financial acts committed by the Clinton Foundation. (snip)

On the issue of torture, Mr. Trump suggested he had changed his mind about the value of waterboarding after talking with James N. Mattis, a retired Marine Corps general, who headed the United States Central Command.

“He said, ‘I’ve never found it to be useful,’” Mr. Trump said. He added that Mr. Mattis found more value in building trust and rewarding cooperation with terrorism suspects:

I thought The Darnold knew better than all those dumb Generals?
Of course, Trump couldn’t have betrayed the Freeperati in such a stunning fashion, so there must be some other explanation!

Suddenly the NY Slime, even after its mea culpa, is to be believed? Hogwash. A leopard cannot change its spots, and neither can the NY Slime tell the truth. Never let the truth get in the way of the agenda.

Yep. The NYT made it all up, and we can expect The Darnold to sue them for this slander any day now. Right?

No, you voted for the Trump who’s gonna blow up terrorists’ families, after he waterboards them.
You voted for the Trump who’s gonna load every Messican into cattle cars and take them to concentration camps.
You voted for the Trump who’s gonna wave his tiny little hand and make the ACA disappear.
You voted for the Trump who’s going to isolate the U.S. from global trade and make your tech toys and cars 4X as expensive as a consequence.
You voted for a Trump who’s going to put Hillary in prison.
.
You voted for a Trump that doesn’t exist.

I keep getting this nagging feeling that we’ve been had. I know the Clintons went to his wedding. I know that Ivanka and Chelsea are best friends. Did they work together and con us? There are things that bother me. And calling the Clintons “good people” is one thing I can’t stomach. Can anyone explain it where it makes sense other than “That’s just politics.”?

Let me guess. You honestly believed everything Donald Trump said on the campaign trail? HA. Like they’re saying… his detractors took him literally but not seriously, and his supporters took him seriously but not literally. Apparently you are one of the few who took him seriously AND literally.

  1. “I keep getting this nagging feeling . . .” No, the line is “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”
