Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with Glock Talk -“You mad dog, bro?” edition

OK – I promised myself a mental health week, so I stayed away from Freeperville – but I did go over to my old haunt Glock Talk to see what’s been going on since I left them 10 years ago.

I’m a handgun owner, and a Glock 21 owner, and I used to hang out there for amusement.  They have many forums, and one is a political forum. Now there’s some liberal Glock owners, but they’re far outnumbered by the right-wing nutcases. I always had a bit of fun letting the air of reality into their lead zeppelins of bubble-think.

So – I now present you with the following thread:

Mad Dog is retiring

Discussion in ‘Political Issues‘ started by B C, Dec 20, 2018.

Will be leaving in Feb.

“General Jim Mattis will be retiring, with distinction, at the end of February, after having served my Administration as Secretary of Defense for the past two years. During Jim’s tenure, tremendous progress has been made, especially with respect to the purchase of new fighting… …equipment. General Mattis was a great help to me in getting allies and other countries to pay their share of military obligations. A new Secretary of Defense will be named shortly. I greatly thank Jim for his service!”

Discussion?

Personally I’m sad to see him go he was one of Trumps best cabinet member

Mattis understands he was working for a psychopath and finally said FU to the Moron in Chief.

czsmithGT

Uh oh.

After having his carefully considered advice ignored several times, he got fed up. Funny how no quality people will stick with Trump. Trumptards will continue to rationalize, but “the truth is out there.”

Wow.

Damn.

Sad to see Mad Dog go so soon but on the other hand, I like how Trump switching out his Cabinet members and other staff positions. Making sure that nobody thinks that they’re indispensable and can afford to rest on their laurels.

Chicks Dig It

I’m starting to feel like I’ve taken a turn into an alternate universe.

More Trump betrayal after the jump…

This is due to the Syria pullout. Make no mistake. This is a HUGE loss! I’m really starting to see the end of the Trump presidency here. Prison reform? Stocks collapsing? Syria pullout??? WTF?

I’m not an alarmist but I am a student of Washington and this is all going South.

What the hell is the Donald doing??

That one’s easy.

Whatever he wants.

Being himself, an undisciplined, erratic, egomaniacal jerk who won’t listen to the people he chose to give him advice.

Stranger and stranger…

“Every general is culpable who undertakes the execution of a plan which he considers faulty. It is his duty to represent his reasons, to insist upon a change of plan–in short, to give in his resignation rather than allow himself to be made the instrument of his army’s ruin.” Napoleon, Maxim LXXII

Two four-star generals in one month gone. Wow

Could it get any stranger?

In the words of Clark Griswold : “Holy shit! Where’s the Tylenol?”

He quit because of the orange doofus. Great…now there are no grown-ups in the room. What a disaster this fool is turning out to be. Mattis was the one remaining stable leader in that whole cesspool. God help us!

Suddenly, on a political forum that used to be full of Trump-lovers, the shine seems to be off the orange cantaloupe.

People, this is beyond significant. It’s the proverbial canary in the coal mine.

No need for elections they want the power back now by their means which is crooked prosecutors and judges who will do their dirty work. If the country doesn’t unite and kill this threat we will be the last free generation.” ~

Trump is losing the electoral battle for conservatism (other than SCOTUS, which is huge) faster than anyone in generations. He’s not a conservative, and he’s not on your side in the culture wars. He’s a twice-divorced, non-church-going, philandering New York Liberal.Pretending Trump is conservative pushes away people who would otherwise be on our side and weakens conservatism in the long run.

One more and I’ll call it a day here.

Seriously. I’ve never seen so much cabinet turnover from one administration in my entire life. It’s pathetic. I had so much hope in him when I voted for him, and I still do….but ******* it gets more difficult by the day. I’m running out of excuses and patience.

But of course, you can’t say any of this to Trump’s Disciples. It’s illegal, according to them, to be objective and honest with yourself about his tenure as President. Otherwise, you’re some kind of freedom-hating Communist who voted for Hillary.

Or it’s somehow Hillary’s fault. Or Obama’s. Despite the fact that neither of them are president.

We are our own worst enemy. If the Right doesn’t stop endless conspiracy theories and blindly dismissing everything as “fake news” or using whatabout-isms in every argument criticizing Trump, then we are going to lose our asses in 2020.

It’s time to start holding him accountable for his nonsense. That doesn’t make us “Never-Trumpers”….it makes us objective. Some on the Right need to grow up and accept that

As a parting shot, from a different thread, a pretty self-explanatory comment :

“Trump is an obnoxious egomaniac…but he is OUR obnoxious egomanic.”

I’m outta here.  See you good people the next time.

  1. I KNEW IT. Them Glock owners always did strike me as the Prius-driving, soy-latte-chugging SEKRIT LIBRULS of the gun-ownerverse.

  2. Wow. Didn’t expect that. On a side note – I own no. handguns, but in my 20’s I would regularly shoot indoor target with a friend of mine whose family owned a gun store. Tried about everything there was to try but never shot a semi auto better than with a Glock 21. Not sure if it was the .45 or what but I couldn’t hit crap with the 9 (G17) or .40 (G20 maybe?). Only thing I did better with was a Smith 629 with an 8-1/4 inch barrel. It was an entertaining distraction during exams.

  3. That’s great & all, but these fuckers will still vote for Trump in 2020
