A social media post by my old friend Parenthetical reminded me that Neil Finn and Mitchell Froom recorded a new version of Last Day Of June last year. It’s a gorgeous song written by Neil. It comes from a 1995 album by the Finn Brothers, Finn. It was a homemade two-man project on which Neil and Tim Finn played all the instruments.

The 2020 version has a solemn COVID era feel to it. A reminder that it’s still not over.
