JD Vance’s Mouth Almighty

You would hope that a Yale-educated US Senator would be able to learn from his mistakes. Not our boy JD.

Over the last 2 weeks the Internet has exploded iwith ridicule of his “childless cat ladies” comment. So far my favorite thing is this t-shirt you can get from the Harris campaign shop:

Unfortunately they’re sold out right now, but I will eventually get mine. And a quick follow-up to what I wrote about on Wednesday–the National Review has also taken a look at the campaign merchandise shop:  Kamala’s Too-Online Merch Store.

Wednesday also brought a new story of Vance being weird about women:

Now, his appearance on ThePortal podcast with host Eric Weinstein in April 2020 has been thrust back into the limelight Vance spoke about his wife’s Indian family, noting that they emigrated to the US about a year before his wife, Usha Vance, was born. He said at the time, her parents were “devoted” to Usha and their grandchild as well as to “future grandchildren.”

The couple has three children, born in 2017, 2020 and in 2021.

“You can sort of see the effect it has on him to be around them like they spoil him,” he said of his first child. “There’s sort of all the classic stuff that grandparents do to grandchildren, but it makes him a much better human being to have exposure to his grandparents.”

He added: “And the evidence on this is like super clear.”

“That’s the whole purpose of the postmenopausal female in theory,” Weinstein said at the time.

“Yes,” Vance agreed.

Just weird. He expected his mother-in-law, who is a college professor, to burn an entire sabbatical to take care of his kids because that—and not teaching or research—was her job as a post-menopausal “female”. And she did, too.

Now this was years ago, as were the other comments that have come to light. And true to form, after all of this attention and backlash, Vance learned to keep his mouth shut about women and their issues.

HAHAHA. No. He did it again on Wednesday on Laura Ingraham’s FOX show:

Ingraham: Senator, one of my dear friends tonight said to me, ‘Well, all these suburban women, all these suburban women, all they care about is abortion.’ And they don’t understand that decision is with the states now. It’s not banned nationally, even if people wanted to be banned nationally. It’s with the states. What do you say to suburban women out there who are marinating in this propaganda?

Vance: Well, first of all, I don’t buy that, Laura. I think most suburban women care about the normal things that most Americans care about. Right?

Now JD isn’t alone is overlooking the importance of women’s reproductive healthcare in this election. But as he’s the guy running for VP, you’d think he would have learned by now to spin it better. But when you don’t respect someone, you don’t see them as an important part of the world.

Can’t wait for what he says next.
