That’s the soon-to-be governor of Wisconsin, Scott Walker (R-Choad). And he is one dumb motherfucker. Just how dumb? Glad you asked. He’s so dumb that he still needs someone to tie his shoes. His sperm should be treated as a controlled substance lest it contaminate the gene pool. He has to get naked to count to 20.5. But enough with the pleasantries. I’m here to talk bidness.
That image was foundhere. It’s an artists conception of a proposed high-speed rail station in Madison. The line would connect Madison and Milwaukee, making it easier to commute between the two, and to get to, say, Chicago from Wisconsin’s capital. There were $810 million in federal stimulus funds assigned to the construction plan. The state’s share? $0.00.
That’s right. The good people of the state of Wisconsin wouldn’t have to cough up a single additional dime for this shiny new project that would bring a shitload of construction jobs and make travel easier between the principal cities. It would also be a good investment in the future, set against the day when gas will cost a kidney a gallon.
The rail line was originally proposed by former governor Tommy Thompson, a Republican who was a member of the Bush Administration cabinet (Secretary of HHS).
And now it’s dead.
Why?
That dumb motherfucker Scott Walker. He’s promised tokill the project, because, according to him, that money would be better spent on roads.
BUT IT FUCKING CAN’T BE. The money is for the rail line, or it goes away. Now how fucking stupid do you have to be to do that? It’s like turning down a trunk full of $100 bills because you don’t like the way Franklin looks.
And to put the moron icing on the dumbfuck cake, the construction has already started. The state’s already gotten at least $52 million in contracts. If Walker decides to scrap the project, the state would have to pay the money back to DC. So much for fiscal fucking responsibility, huh?
