When President Obama arrives back in Washington this morning after his Hawaiian vacation, he’ll be greeted by a rare bit of good news on the political front.
According toGallup, Obama’s approval rating is currently at 50 percent—the highest its been in seven months. That’s up nine points since early November, whenObama acknowledged this his party took a “shellacking” in the midterm elections.
It’s probably because we’re a center-right nation. I will note, however, that it’s just goddamn amazing how people start to like you when you stop listening to Chris Matthews’ racist uncles and start doing the things they tell you they want done.
