Madison — Gov. Scott Walker grabbed half of the $5 million he raised in unlimited funds from outside of Wisconsin, including $250,000 from Texan Bob Perry, the architect of the infamous “Swift Boat” smear ads.
Absolutely not. No way. NOT AGAIN.
The shame of my country in my lifetime was that we let these sleazy assholes ruin the one chance we had to stop everything that was going wrong. We let them crawl back out of the slime and peddle their hippie-blaming, progress-hating, Nixon-bagman bullshit all over the news, for no other reason than that their phone numbers were easy for producers to remember, and look what happened.
Four more years of unwinnable wars and incalculable domestic economic damage that is now so ingrained in our politics we can’t even have a CONVERSATION about what we want and what it costs without everybody in Washington having the kind of freakout that’s usually only justified when some author kills off your favorite character in a vampire novel, okay? Four more years of domestic spying and terrorism on the part of a police-state government that our nominally democratic president has no intention of reining in, and it started with Bob Perry, and John O’Neill, and if they think they’re going to continue that record in Wisconsin they have another thing coming because NOT AGAIN.
