The most amusing attack on that ad came from the makers of one of my favorite teevee shows, Peaky Blinders. It chronicles the rise of a British crime family in OG Birmingham after the Great War. Team Louse used an image of Cillian Murphy as gang leader Tommy Shelby without permission to make its homophobic point.
Why Murphy? He’s a looker:
The other unauthorized images used in the ad were of Brad Pitt in Troy and Christian Bale in American Psycho. They have one thing in common with Cillian Murphy: they’re all lookers.
A good analogy to trot out at this point is Fight Club. You do not talk about Fight Club and you:
DeSantis seems not to have learned his lesson. He’s doubling down on that disgusting and despicable ad because he’s Trump’s mini-me. And the Indicted Impeached Insult Comedian never backs down or apologizes. But Trump never fucked with the Peaky Fucking Blinders. They may be fictional but they’re tough:
