Vote Against The Crook, It’s Important

If it’s Tuesday, it must be the seventh installment in the weekly series inspired by the 1991 Duke-Edwards Gret Stet governor’s race. It was the most intense electoral experience of my life; formative too, it gave me an intense dislike of all forms of extremism.

A reminder of the unofficial slogan of the race from hell:

In 2024, we’re flipping that on its head and voting AGAINST the crook. It’s even more important.

To be human is to lie. We all do it. But most of us mere mortals avoid lying about important things. The Indicted Impeached Insult Comedian is an exuberant liar, for him lying is like breathing. It keeps his political career alive.

Many news organizations kept track of Trump’s lies while in office. Since they’re the one with the Pinocchio ratings, we’ll use the Washington Post’s count as our frame of reference. The WaPo uses the term “false or misleading claims” in their roundup. I prefer the word lie. According to the WaPo he lied 30,573 times during his occupation of the White House.

The Kaiser of Chaos tells lies large and small. We all know about the BIG LIE that he won the 2020 election but there were many small lies as well.

Since he’s not the brightest bulb in the lamp, he has a hard time keeping his lies straight. For example, his defense in the porn star election interference case includes a “misleading claim” that he didn’t shtup either Stormy Daniels or Karen McDougal. He admitted to shtupping Stormy in his deposition in  a California civil case. Oops.

I’m not going to detail his lies in this post: 30,573 is a staggering total and I don’t feel like staggering. Suffice it to say that he’s a lying sack of shit who makes past presidential liars look like pikers. That’s why he’s the worst president in American history.

Repeat after me: Vote against the lying crook, it’s important.

The last word goes to Peter Frampton:
