Malaka Of The Week: Christine O’Donnell

Christine O’Donnell is running for the GOP Senatorial nomination against veteran Delaware Congressman Mike Castle. She’s a perennial candidate who this time around has an outside chance at knocking Castle off. Why? She’s the teabagger candidate and Castle is an endangered species: a moderate Republican.

Unlike *some * of the tea party candidates O’Donnell is not a libertarian; not even close. She’s a culture warrior and that’s why she’s malaka of the week. Ms. O’Donnell has someextreme and downright squirrely views on sexeven for a Catholic wingnut:

Quote-1: “When a married person uses pornography, or is unfaithful, it
compromises not just his (or her) purity, but also compromises the
spouse’s purity. As a church, we need to teach a higher standard than
abstinence. We need to preach a righteous lifestyle.”

So, looking is cheating? Talk about being more Catholic than the Pope. I don’t think Benny the Ratzinger has said too much about porn. That would involve acknowledging it exists.

Quote-2: “The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can’t masturbate without lust.”

Now, I’m not usually this literal about malakatude but if there was ever a malakatudinous statement, it’s that one. To wank is to cheat? Holy crap, lots of people are whoring around with themselves right now. They better say 44 Hail Marys and keep their hands above their waist.

Now that I’ve made Christine O’Donnell malaka of the week, I’m pulling for her in the GOP primary. Mike Castle is the classic candidate for the Republicans to run in a blue state such as Delaware. This is such a weird year that someone like O’Donnell has a chance to uh, beat, Castle and take him to the, uh, woodshed. She was alsoendorsed by she whose name must not be mentioned yesterday, which makes her not only a malaka but a so-called mama grizzly as well.

Thanks to TPM’s Christina Bellantoni for exploring the dark recesses of Ms. O’Donnell’s mind; such as it is.
