Well – the Freeperati have been aching for a full-on police-thug beatdown, and Zucotti Park looked like the best venue to get their vicarious (because none of them have the guts to try it themselves) beatdown of the DFHs.

New York (CNN) — A cleaning planned for the Manhattan park where “Occupy Wall Street” protesters have camped out for weeks has been postponed, a move that averts a showdown between demonstrators and police.

The New York mayor’s office said Brookfield Properties, the owners of Zuccotti Park, told the city late Thursday the scheduled cleaning is off for now and “for the time being” they are “withdrawing their request” made earlier in the week for police assistance during the cleaning operation.

“Our position has been consistent throughout: the City’s role is to protect public health and safety, to enforce the law, and guarantee the rights of all New Yorkers.Brookfield believes they can work out an arrangement with the protesters that will ensure the park remains clean, safe, available for public use and that the situation is respectful of residents and businesses downtown, and we will continue to monitor the situation,” Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway said

Cleaning? The libs I’ve seen at these protests react to shampoo and to soap like vampires with garlic or a cross. They’d rather sleep or sit on the little “presents” that their friends leave on the grass (and occasionally on police cars) than experience cleanliness.

I on the other hand, hve just experienxed brainlessness.

You know, there aren’t any showers in public parks, asswipe, so people leave to clean up and rest, then return, in an unending cycle.

You, however, can never scrub off the stink of stupid no matter how hard you might try.

Well they are really gonna fire-up now because they’ve just faced down the City of New York and the NYPD.

As far as I can tell two things happened:

– the Teamsters showed up in Zuccotti Park today around 6AM

– the property owners withdrew their request for police assistance (and I’d bet my next paycheck that Obama had just promised them another $100 mil in green energy grants)

Was dumb of Bloomberg to try this at 7AM on a weekday in the middle of all the morning TV news shows.You do stuff like this at 5:30AM on a Sunday when nobody is looking.

The Rev. Pat Robertson, who once said his prayers turned a hurricane away from Washington, D.C., feels quake damage to the Washington Monument may carry a message from “the Lord.”

The TV evangelist cited a four-foot crack in the Washington Monument, caused by Tuesday’s 5.8 earthquake, as a possible sign from the supernatural. He did not discuss greater damage inflicted on spires of the Washington Cathedral.

“Ladies and gentlemen I don’t want to get weird on this so please take it for what it’s worth,” the Rev. Pat, a former Republican presidential candidate, told his TV audience.

The first Republican debate with former frontrunner Mitt Romney as a hungry challenger took place last night, and in many ways it unfolded largely as I predicted. Romney mainly stuck to his above-the-fray strategy except for a couple of notable exchanges in the beginning with the new frontrunner, Rick Perry. Perry avoided looking or sounding scary despite the best attempts of the moderators to make him stumble. Michele Bachmann may in fact have been the only real loser of the debate despite giving a credible performance.

Let’s start with Perry, who was the focus of the attention for his first debate. The Texas governor did well, especially on a late question on the death penalty and when he challenged both Karl Rove and Dick Cheney on Social Security. He gave a good explanation of how the current model of Social Security is indeed a “Ponzi scheme” for the younger contributors who have no hope of seeing any benefits without serious reform, and rejected the idea that telling the truth was so provocative that it shouldn’t be done in an election. Romney had one of his weakest moments when he scolded Perry for scaring people while conceding that Perry was right, which made Mitt look as though pandering rather than telling the truth is preferable.

On the other hand, Perry gave a surprisingly weak answer on a gotcha question about climate change (“Can you name any scientists”?), a topic for which he should have been prepared. Bachmann did better on the follow-up. Perry also revealed a tendency to pause while reaching for the right words, which some speakers usually fill with trite phrases like “Let me be perfectly clear.” He needs to improve if he expects to joust with Barack Obama in the general election, who looks more natural on the debate stage than Perry. However, he didn’t give anyone a reason to not support him as a nominee and should keep his momentum intact. Perry certainly came across as a fighter and a plain speaker, which will boost his chances among the Republican base.

Other than the weak moment on Social Security, Romney excelled in the debate at maintaining a presidential approach. Even the sharp exchanges with Perry in the beginning didn’t get at all personal, and at least one time Romney defended Perry, noting that Perry had already admitted that he shouldn’t have approached the Gardasil vaccination by executive order. More than most on stage, Romney kept bringing the debate back to Barack Obama rather than the other candidates on the stage. Romney made a strong showing as an alternative to Perry. Bachmann had a technically good debate, but far short of what she needed last night. A slew of polls show her dropping back into the second tier after Perry’s entry into the race, and nothing that she did during the debate will have former supporters returning to her side. She had nothing to lose by going on the attack, but Bachmann seemed curiously disengaged, and more passive than any other debate in which she has participated. Don’t be surprised to see Bachmann fading even further into the background after tonight.

The scandalous details are revealed in the highly-anticipated tell-all “The Rogue: Searching for The Real Sarah Palin,” written by best-selling author Joe McGinniss.

Palin bedded future pro hoops player Glen Rice while he was playing at the University of Michigan, the National Enquirer reports about the McGinniss book.

The sharp-shooting Rice – who spent one season with the Knicks – was playing in the annual “Great Alaska Shootout” while Palin was a sports reporter with Anchorage television station KTUU, the Enquirer said.

Their one-night stand over Thanksgiving weekend 1987 reportedly occurred in the dorm room of Palin’s kid sister at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Palin was described by a friend as the aggressor, with the pal reporting “she hauled his ass down,” the Enquirer said.

Less than a year later, Palin was pregnant by husband Todd and the couple eloped.

The book also repeated allegations – denied in the past by Palin – that she had a six-month affair with her husband’s business partner in the mid-’90s.

The dalliance put a chill on the Palin marriage, with Todd complaining to friends about the loss of intimacy in their relationship, the Enquirer reported.

McGinniss, the author of “Fatal Vision” and “The Selling of the President,” rented the house next door to the Palins in Wasilla while researching the bombshell book.

His agent, David Larabell, declined to comment on the Enquirer excerpts.

“As this is an embargoed book I can’t comment on the specificity of its contents,” Larabell wrote in an e-mail.

“Also, I haven’t seen the National Enquirer article. I don’t know about this instance, but they often get these reports right.”

The book also reports that Palin was once seen snorting cocaine off the top of a 55-gallon drum while snowmobiling with friends. She also smoked pot with a professor while at Mat-Su College, the book says.

And it quotes a Palin family friend as saying that husband Todd Palin also snorted coke, describing him as “on the end of the straw plenty.”

The Enquirer quoted a publishing source about the explosive stories contained in the 320-page book, due in stores next week.

There was no immediate response from the Palin camp.

McGinniss is the scuzzy, unbalanced perv who rented the house next to the Palins to spy, and called Sarah a Nazi on a morning show. Anyone who believes this garbage from him is a fool.

McGinniss is a scumbag, but the part about the sex with the 6′ 8″ basketball player (supposedly 9 months before she married Todd and while she was dating him) did not come solely from McGinniss. Glen Rice and another source are backing the story.

I guess the sources could be lying, but the point is that McGinniss isn’t making it up out of whole cloth. Objectively speaking, there could be something to it.
