Good morning, everyone – I’ve had to scrounge up extra blowers for the iso chamber – the tops keep exploding off the storage drums from the gaseous crazy fumes building up and you never know when…CRIKEY!
Everyone OK? I think I soiled my iso suit, but there’s no point in worrying about it now, as what’s outside it is considerably worse than what’s possibly inside it.
Let’s start with –Newtie – QUITTER!!
Breaking: Gingrich replaces campaign manager, lays off 1/3 of staff — to focus on the convention
Hotair ^ | 03/27/2012 | AllahPunditPosted on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 10:15:26 PM bySeekAndFind
Clearly it’s his campaign manager and the staffwho are the problem.
Alternate headline: “Gingrich finally approaching thefifth stage of grief.”
It’s largely a strategy of necessity: The former House Speaker is a distant third in delegates, behind Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. His campaign-finance report for February, released last week, showed more debt ($1.55 million) than cash on hand ($1.54 million).
He doesn’t have a revenue problem, he has a spending problem.
DeSantis said the former Speaker will continue to visit states with primaries, but will have a less intense campaign schedule. DeSantis promised that the campaign will be “more positive and ideas-focused,”
as opposed to “Delegate-focused”.
eschewing attacks on Republican rivals. The aide said the campaign will be more digital, focusing on low-cost communications tools, including informational videos, social media and the web…
DeSantis elaborated on the announcement in an email: “Newt 2012 is transitioning into an organization appropriate for winning a big choice convention. This big choice convention phase will be focused on two goals. 1. Affecting the national dialogue to show that Gingrich is the most capable of defeating Obama, by leading on issues that put the president on defense – like Newt’s $2.50 Gas Plan;
and 2. A parallel communications strategy directly to the delegates…
“Furthermore, the fact is the more than a million more people have voted against Mitt Romney than for him. We believe that if Governor Romney is unable to secure 1144 by the last primaries, he will be unable to do so at the convention where the vast majority of the delegates are conservative. That creates and environment at the convention where Gingrich can emerge as the one candidate who can unite social, economic and national security conservatives (a fact which is borne out by polling).”
Like I said in theearlier Gingrich post, that last paragraph is pure fantasy. If you’ve reached the point in a convention floor fight where, for whatever reason, both Romney and Santorum are deemed unacceptable, why wouldn’t you roll the dice on a dark horse outsider? You’re much better off with someone like Christie or Paul Ryan who’s young, appealingappalling,
FIFY.
superb on the seminal issue of fiscal reform, and yet to have their national image defined than you are with High-Negatives Newt. Passing over the guy with the most delegatesand the guy with the second-most delegates means you’re thinking way out of the box on the nomination, which means there’s no reason to limit your choice to the people who are running. Although I guess choosing someone who hasn’t held elective office since the 90s and who can’t seem to win anywhere except his home state and the state next doorwould qualify as “way out of the box.” Way, way out.
I don’t know, guys. I’m starting to think maybe he really believes in this ludicrous convention idea. What other explanation is there?
He’s been taking advice from Sarah Palin?
Exit question: Why on earth would he cite Romney’s vote total as relevant to the delegates’ calculus when Newt himself ismuch closer to Ron Paul’s total than to Romney’s?

I,for one, dont need the encouragment of a celebrity to vote for or against. People whose every action hinges on what some singer or movie star says lives(sic) in a mental desert.
To: jakerobinsGee, thanks Ted. Now go shoot a moose or something.
To: jakerobinsAnother traitor out in the open. Nobody who endorses Willard Romney the open socialist will ever get my support, and I will never, under any circumstances, vote for him.
I just can’t believe there are so many people out there who would vote for the Republican equivalent of John Kerry just because of the letter in front of his name. Look, I think everyone has held their nose and voted for a RINO at one point or another. But a socialist? A Marxist Republican who signed off on universal healthcare, the focus of our ire?
Anyone who votes for Romney is no less an ideological sellout than he is.

Finally, Romney gets tea party supportThe Washington Times ^ | March 19, 2012 | Ralph Z. Hallow

The organization that ignited the tea party as a national mass movement gave Mitt Romney perhaps his biggest victory yet, deciding to drop its opposition to his candidacy, a top executive in the group told The Washington Times.
FreedomWorks, which organized the Sept. 12, 2009, mass demonstration on the Mall, says that while it will not give an explicit endorsement, the time has come for Republicans to unite around the former Massachusetts governor and focus on defeating President Obama.
“It is a statistical fact that the numbers favor Mitt Romney,” FreedomWorks Vice President Russ Walker told The Times on Tuesday. “We are dedicated to defeating Obama and electing a conservative Senate that will help Romney repeal Obamacare and address the nation’s economic and spending challenges.”
Mr. Romney has been winning a majority of delegates and has more than twice the number that former Sen. Rick Santorum has, and he continued that run Tuesday with a victory in Illinois.

I’ve seen so many people and organizations written off here lately, that soon all that will be left is FR.
To: RobinMastersIt’s looking more and more like we’re going to be stuck with Romney.
Well, better uncertainty with him thanutter destruction with barry.
To: RobinMastersInitially, the Tea Party decided to work to influence the GOP because the Democrat party was a lost cause and a third party option was too difficult.
Now, the GOP is once again calling the shots and the Tea Party going along simply because they don’t want to lose?
Who’s influencing who now?
To: DiogenesisThe only solution to this problem is annihilation of the blue blood country clubbers at the RNC and their creepy pulled back wives.
The GOP must die.
Time for real conservatives to split off.
CNN And Fox Project Romney Wins Illinois

No link yet. I’m just seeing it on CNN. Reuters said Fox called it as well.
To: PinkbellWell, the Romneybots signed up on this forum who have kept their heads low, but then ramped it up and endlessly bashed Rick Santorum, said they were for Gingrich (but rarely posted anything positive for him), I suppose can all come out of the woodwork now on FREE REPUBLIC and start making this place ROMNEY-LAND.Here’s your chance, RINO sleepers! Hope you are happy with yourselves.

To: AmericanInTokyoWell, the Romneybots signed up on this forum who have kept their heads low, but then ramped it up and endlessly bashed Rick Santorum,So true. Sort of surprised the moderator allowed the continual negative toxic comments from these guys, horrible.
FR is short staffed these days – $90,000.00 a quarter doesn’t go as far as it used to, you know.
Also, Jim Rob banned most of the moderators.
Probably did their share of damage on various boards. People can only take so much of that crap and they give up.
To: SignalmanIt’s not going to be Rubio. It is going to be Susana Martinez. She is seen as less controversial by the GOP-E and she appeals to more demographics (Mexican Hispanics and women).
Rubio MAY-—MAY get a cabinet post. But that’s it.

A Freeperville self-immolation that will make Buddhist monks look like fizzled firecrackers?
Will it come an O bama supporting forum? If that happens, I can assure you there won’t be many left on FR. Take that to the bank.
Our best hope is that something happens and Romney implodes and we get real conservative candidate.
To: southernnorthcarolinaMy vote will be to tell the GOP it cannot keep shoving RINOS down our throats.
It will be 3rd party in all likelihood.
I have NEVER failed to vote GOP, even for McStain and Bush 1. Not this time. I see ZERO difference between Myth and Obama, except that the damage done by Obama will be blamed on the left, not the right. Let it be so.
I will NOT vote for Romney under any circumstances.
