Skeery, skeery gay: “That bullying thing is the biggest lark out there…There are sexually confused children who could be pushed into a lifestyle that I don’t think is appropriate with them and it’s not for the norm for society, and they don’t know how they can get back from that. They by their lives speak as Americans of what we think about the value of human beings and how much respect we hold people with and also people who’ve been victimized, how we hurt with them and try to care for them and … Continue reading Now Akin’s a Moron Because of 9/11?!

General horror aside, it really is all kinds of hilarious watching Republicans, for once, have totry to throw somebody over the side. I mean, they don’t even really know HOW. Usually it’s a Democrat saying something like, “possibly Republicans are assholes, sometimes” and then ensues two weeks of screaming from Joe Lieberman and Harold Ford about irresponsibility and The Tone and then the unfortunate fuck quits and we all talk wistfully about what it would be like to have a grown-up political party. Meanwhile Republicans can say things like “we should cave in the entire earth and shove all the … Continue reading Couldn’t Be Happening to a Nicer Douchemook

SARAH PALIN ENDORSES ROMNEY/RYAN

Congratulations to Mitt Romney on his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate. President Obama has declared that this election is about “two fundamentally different visions” for America. Goodness, he’s got that right. Our country cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama’s fundamentally flawed vision. We must now look to this new team, the Romney/Ryan ticket, to provide an alternate vision of an America that is fiscally responsible, strong, and prosperous – an America that understands and is proud of her exceptional place in the world and will respect those who fight to secure that exceptionalism, which includes keeping our promises to our veterans.

Seriously, I had daydreams of Sarah Palin bursting out of a giant cake on the stage of the RNC in a leotard and doing a baton routine while a jazz band played, bringing the crowd to their feet. Then she marched to the microphone and demanded the nomination while the audience erupted into rapturous cheers and applause.
“And then we had amazing, glorious sex”
However, like all good daydreams, I am eventually forced to come back to reality and realize that Sarah Palin will not be coming through those convention doors later this month – unless as a correspondent for FoxNews.
Sarah did just endorse the selection of Paul Ryan as VP and I’ll have to take some solace there.

I’m not even embarrassed to admit that I know everyone in the flick. I should be but I’m not. Here’s Homan’s description of The Theologians: The Theologians, Drs. Inspired by responses to the creeper thread below: What’s the rudest thing someone’s ever said to you? I’ve had my share of bullying and teasing and mean things said to me, but I think the flat-out rudest things always come in the form of pointless advice. Once I was running a silent auction table at an event and a woman walked by and sniffed over the offerings (which, by the way, included tickets to downtown Chicago attractions and signed baseball bats and other fancy things) and said to me, “Well, this was a stupid idea.” I just stood there gaping … Continue reading Weekend Question Thread: Rudeness
I crept out of my bedroom early this morning and poked my head into my child’s room. She was snoring and muttering in her sleep, same as always. The floor of her room was devoid of most of the toys that usually made walking through a minefield a safer proposition than putting her to bed. The room was relatively clean because family and friends will be descending upon our home this weekend for her birthday parties (Yes, plural. Yes, we are nuts.). Today, she turns seven. I wonder how that is possible. Three days after my wife walked out of … Continue reading Seven
