Did you know that the turkey you’re going to enjoy on Thanksgiving Day this Thursday is probably halal? If it’s a Butterball turkey, then it certainly is.

I discovered that only two plants in the U.S. that perform halal slaughter keep the halal meat separated from the non-halal meat. At other meat-packing plants, animals are slaughtered following halal requirements, but then only a small bit of the meat is actually labeled halal.

Wendy Howze, a Butterball Consumer Response Representative, responded: “Our whole turkeys are certified halal.”

Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus, and the jugular vein, and letting the blood drain out while saying “Bismillah allahu akbar” — in the name of Allah the greatest. Many people refuse to eat it on religious grounds.

Others object because of the cruelty to animals that halal slaughter necessitates.

Still others refuse to do so on principle: why should we be forced to conform to Islamic norms? It’s Islamic supremacism on the march, yet again.

Non-Muslims in America and Europe don’t deserve to have halal turkey forced upon them in this way, without their knowledge or consent.

The same Islamic law that mandates that animals be cruelly slaughtered according to halal requirements also teaches hatred of and warfare against unbelievers, the oppression of women, the extinguishing of free speech, and much more that is inimical to our freedom. Cleaning? The libs I’ve seen at these protests react to shampoo and to soap like vampires with garlic or a cross. They’d rather sleep or sit on the little “presents” that their friends leave on the grass (and occasionally on police cars) than experience cleanliness.

As far as I can tell two things happened:

– the Teamsters showed up in Zuccotti Park today around 6AM

– the property owners withdrew their request for police assistance (and I’d bet my next paycheck that Obama had just promised them another $100 mil in green energy grants)

Non-Hispanic whites are a dwindling share of the U.S. population, with their numbers dropping in the Northeast and Midwest and growing only modestly in the South and West, the Census Bureau said Thursday.

Whites declined in 15 states, almost all in the industrial and farming states from Massachusetts to Pennsylvania, and from Kansas to Ohio. They also declined in California and three Southern states, including Maryland.

A Census Bureau analysis of the 2010 count showed that the number of non-Hispanic whites rose over the decade from 194.5 million to 197 million, but the 1.2 percent growth rate fell far short of the national increase of 9.7 percent. Non-Hispanic whites are now 64 percent of the population, down from 69 percent a decade ago.

The census also reported that the black population grew by 12 percent. African Americans now make up almost 13 percent of the population, a small increase over the decade. More than half, 57 percent, live in the South, up from 55 percent a decade ago. And six out of 10 blacks live in 10 states, including Virginia and Maryland.

The census analysis of the nation’s white and black population underscores the transformative nature of growth in the 21st century. The number of Hispanics and Asians is soaring, the number of blacks is growing slowly and whites are almost at a standstill.

Hey, you want us to get an all new system with all new software and add a few more pricey techs, system programmers and database administrators to keep it all working 100% of the time 24/7/365? Well, start coughing up the big bucks.

It’s going to take tens of thousands of donations and many with at least three zeros each after the comma to accomplish the task. And that would be EVERY month like clock work to make the payroll. Once you take on a big load of expensive overhead, there’s no going back.As it is, we get a couple thousand donations per quarter averaging about $30 bucks each and there’s no guarantees we can cover this quarter’s expenses much less next quarter. We’re on a pay as we go system and we have zero employees.We just ask for enough to pay the bills.

Throwing more money at the problem won’t solve it. [This latest glitch] was a technical issue and we just had to keep troubleshooting until we found it. And no, we’re not going to invite a bunch of strangers in to get their hands on our secure systems. John has been programming since he was 14 and he’s pushing 40 now. He built these systems and he’s an expert in them.

And no, we are not going to throw out our software and rewrite it and no we’re not going to move on to some other database system. There are no guarantees that any other system can do a better job and not without hiring a staff to build and maintain it and that’s for sure. And we don’t have the financial wherewithal to do any of that anyway. Maybe if we had a couple million bucks at our disposal and a couple years to do it in we could build an iron-clad system. And maybe not.

All I can say is, if someone else can do it better and cheaper, then please step right on up and get ‘er done!! I’ll bow out and retire. Thankyouverymuch.

Hayek’s involvement with women’s issues has distinguished her in Hollywood. Her advocacy includes promoting awareness programs about violence against women and on the rising discrimination against undocumented workers.

“I was an illegal immigrant in the United States,” Hayek said during the interview. “It was for a small period of time, but I still did it.”

Sarah Palin has clarified for the first time in a newly published interview that she is seriously considering a presidential run.

On the First Sunday of Lent every year, we read in the Gospel of the devil tempting Our Lord. First he tries to tempt Him to gluttony, and Our Lord resists. Of course, Our Lord, because He is God, cannot be inclined to sin. But the devil, not knowing that, first tries to tempt Him to gluttony, and then to pride and power and materialism. He says to Our Lord, “Why don’t you throw yourself off this high elevation? God will save you.” Our Lord refuses. Then the devil pulls out his trump card. He shows Our Lord all the glory of the world and says, “I will give all this to you, if you will just bow down and worship me.” Of course, Our Lord refuses again. What the devil was saying here, in a sense, was “I’ll give you magic to do something that is not morally right, but it’s something you would enjoy.”

It should be evident to us, my dear parishioners, that the devil is after each one of us, tempting us in similar manner to sin and to pride. These temptations take different forms, so we must be on our guard. The devil is trying to tempt us away from serving God, from obeying God’s commandments. He is so crafty, so subtle, that often you don’t even know, unless you are very careful, how he is insinuating himself.

I believe it my duty to talk to you today about a series of books and its accompanying movie because I believe that they contain an insinuation of pride and ungodliness. I think you know what I am talking about: the Harry Potter series. I will speak both about the books and the movie, because if one reads the books, he will want to see the movie, and vice versa. I believe there are some real problems here, real spiritual danger — possibly grave spiritual danger. I will explain why. Believe me, I have refrained from saying anything about this for a long time. When the books first came out, I began to gather information on them. I wanted to analyze them to see whether or not they were good for children to be reading, and to write an article forThe Reign of Mary. I haven’t said anything up to this time because I wanted to study the matter, rather than say yes or no before I knew what I was talking about.

Let me also preface this explanation by saying that I speak now from the consciousness that one day I will have to answer to God for how I accomplished my duty to instruct you in matters of faith and morals. I certainly believe that there are matters of faith and morals involved in this particular matter.

The first problem I would like to point out are the words that are so casually used in the books and in the movie, words that are so casually used that children may start using them — yet these words are matter of mortal sin. Specifically, I am referring to such words as: sorcery, witchcraft, casting spells, communicating with the dead (necromancy). The Catholic Church very clearly tells us that these are mortal sins, and they must not be presented as though they are something permissible to try. I believe it is the devil trying to insinuate himself through the medium of human beings, trying to draw us away from Christ. These are not your usual Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Remember that children do not have the same critical ability that adults have. They read fantasy much differently than we do: they read it in a believing way.

Don’t blame the Democrats for the defeat of Christine O’Doneell and Sharon Angle. The RINOs have worked hard and worked WITH the Dims to make sure that the Tea Party candidates would not win.

In Delaware, it was Karl Rove who opposed O’Donnell. In Nevada, it was a state level RINO who supported the Democrat. In Alaska, RINOs have done everything to prevent Joe Miller from winning. You can be sure that Ken Buck must have been done in by RINOs like Karl Rove.

A suggestion to hit back at them – deny RINOs the right to post on FR. If anyone brings up the claim that it is better to support a “winnable” anti-life and pro-spending candidate instead of a Tea Party candidate, how about showing zero tolerance and kicking them out instantly even if they have been around for 10 years.Surely, GOP officials use FR to their benefit. Why not pay back in their own coin? If they don’t support us, why should we support them?

It seems there may be a hitch in your hypothesis. Who is the one to determine what defines a RINO? Given there is really no concrete list of what the Republican platform is other then the ambiguous list of smaller government, increased security, and less intrusion, very few can agree on what that actually entails. The tighter that list is defined the fewer there will be that can be included under the Republican banner.

Why, as a matter of fact, he does have a list. You’ll see it below the jump.

That, in essence is the struggle that the Republican Party has today. Even organized religions cannot come to a strict common ground on homosexuals, gays, or abortion that all within those religions can agree on let alone act in a cohesive manner on.

We could end up with such a small number of who we believe should be included in the Party that we are totally nullified as a group.

The MoveOn worker who was attacked by Rand Paul supporters has now spoken out about the assault, claiming she was “injured,” “in severe shock,” and that she has no doubt that the attack was “premeditated.”

She also vowed “further legal action.”

Lauren Valle, who was dragged to the ground and had her head stepped on during a scuffle outside last night’s Kentucky Senate debate, detailed the attack in a conference call with several reporters. She described it as being at least as bad as the footage suggests.

“My memory of it is sort of that of a traumatized person,” she said. “I distinctly remember a blow to my head.”

Virginia Beach is the biggest city in Virginia, and the hometown of the state’s current Republican Governor, Bob McDonnell. Now it’s also home to the latest example of a racist email forward destroying a prominent conservative’s political credibility and possibly career.

As the progressive Blue Virgina blog reported Monday — and I independently confirmed from one of the recipients Tuesday — Virginia Beach Republican Party chair Dave Bartholomew forwarded a racist email comparing African Americans to dogs. The email, subject line “my, dog,” consists of a racist parable about African Americans and welfare. In the first 24 hours since the email came to light, Democrats condemned Bartholomew and he resigned his position with the Republican Party.

Incensed when two teenagers ignored his demands to pull up their saggy pants, a Memphis man allegedly shot one of the youths in the back, according to police.

Kenneth Bonds was arrested Saturday night and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and jailed on $25,000 bond. Bonds, 45, is pictured in the mug shot at right.

Investigators contend that Bonds admitted to shooting Cameron Tucker, 17, following a September 25 argument on a Memphis sidewalk. The teenager was accompanied by Isaac Taylor, a 16-year-old friend.

Tucker told cops that he and Taylor were walking to a candy store when Bonds “began yelling at them to pull their pants up,” according to a Memphis Police Department arrest warrant affidavit. “Bonds got angry when Tucker and Taylor refused and that’s when the three got into a heated argument,” reported police.

At that point, Bonds allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired a shot at the older boy. The shot missed, but as the boys fled, Bonds continued firing at them. One bullet hit the 17-year-old in the buttocks and exited through his thigh (the boy was treated for the wound at two different hospitals).

A witness, Percy Chalmers, told cops that he saw Bonds “pull a large black semi auto handgun from his waist band” and fire several shots. Both Tucker and Taylor were able to identify Bonds in a photo spread prepared by Memphis police.

When contacted by phone, Bonds reportedly “admitted to shooting Cameron Tucker after an argument,” according to the police affidavit. Bonds was scheduled to be arraigned this morning on the felony counts.

Morning, all – the pre-election hysteria has been ramping up at Free Republic, and the snarling and back-biting have become a thing of wonder. I really wonder if these jerkoffs growl and hiss their way through life like they do when then they think no one’s watching.

Are you sure she wasn’t describing Miller?

The source noted that some of Miller’s campaign staff have connections to 2008 Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, and suggested that these staffers have been advising Miller to distance himself from Palin.

It couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that her approval ratings are hovering at around 20%, could it?

Based on information in a post by notoriousAlaska anti-Palin blogger Jeanne Devon, one pro-Palin source in Alaska deduced that the leak could only have come from Miller’s staff — unless Miller himself leaked the e-mail.

Geez – I may have to take another hiatus – just woke up from a dream where I was attending a Congressional inquiry meeting, Tony Stark-style, except they were gonna take me out afterwards and shoot me.

A Steve-King-style wingnut was talking wingnut crap, and irritated me enough that I started riffing on him MST3K-style into my mike, and ended up unmasking him as an alien(a real extraterrestrial, not the kind Meg Whitman gets caught employing), yanking off the wig and sunshades on camera, and then vaporizing him with his own ray gun.

It got weird after that.

OK – you kind of know how the reactions in Freeperville were going to come down after “Fake Acorn pimp” got caught withhis wig and sunglasses off, but hey – knowing that Schwartzenegger/Stallone/Bruce Willis was going to win in the end never stopped me from going to a popcorn movie, so let’s suit up, enter the inner chamber, and yank the lids of a few barrels of Freeper Funnies!

I can almost picture the discussion in the Editorial inner sanctum over the wording of this headline (it changed several times over the course of the day)

Lusby, Maryland (CNN) — A conservative activist known for making undercover videos plotted to embarrass a CNN correspondent by recording a meeting on hidden cameras aboard a floating “palace of pleasure” and making sexually suggestive comments, e-mails and a planning document show.

James O’Keefe, best known for hitting the community organizing group ACORN with an undercover video sting, hoped to get CNN Investigative Correspondent Abbie Boudreau onto a boat filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session, those documents show.

The plan apparently was thwarted after Boudreau was warned minutes before it was supposed to happen.

“I never intended to become part of the story,” Boudreau said. “But things suddenly took a very strange turn.”

O’Keefe is best known for making a series of undercover videos inside ACORN offices around the country in 2009. The 40-year-old liberal group was crippled by scandal after O’Keefe and fellow activist Hannah Giles allegedly solicited advice from ACORN workers on setting up a brothel and evading taxes.

O’Keefe needs to take a step back and re-think his approach to this work. He chalked up a nice hit his first time out of the box, but it has been downhill ever since. If he wants to have a “career” (who knows what the media will look like 10 years from now) in this business, he should concentrate on finding real wrong-doing as opposed to trying to create it out of whole cloth.

Krauthammer has never liked Gov. Palin, but now also criticizing Jim DeMint?

Krauthammer is making the argument that a Liberal Republican is better than no Republican. Well, Krauthammer seems to have forgotten two Senators named Specter and Jeffords. They certainly worked out well.

The foregone conclusion that Castle is a “shoe-in” in the general is flawed. After the offensive smear campaign run against O’Donnell, I can’t imagine Tea Party supporters rushing to the polls to support Castle in the General Election, meaning, he would have to rely upon large support from Democrat voters.

On the other hand, O’Donnell could very well win the General Election with a highly motivated base in a smaller population state.

It certainly seems the battle lines have been drawn; The Tea Party versus The Establishment.

These are a small selection of some of the racially-charged comments posted to the conservative ‘Free Republic’ blog Thursday, aimed at U.S. President Barack Obama’s 11-year-old daughter Malia after she was photographed wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on the front.

The thread was accompanied by a photo of Michelle Obama speaking to Malia that featured the caption, “To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds.”

Though this may sound like the sort of thing one might read on an Aryan Nation or white power website, they actually appeared on what is commonly considered one of the prime online locations for U.S. Conservative grassroots political discussion and organizing – and for a short time, the comments seemed to have the okay of site administrators.

Well, I guess that this kind of thing only applies if it’s Obama’s kids.

When are the gay activists going to target “Dancing With The Stars” so that we see same sex couples dancing? Don’t they have a rule that all couples must be boy/girl?

The gay activists successfully pressured “The Today Show” to include same-sex couples in a wedding contest. So I would expect that they will eventually target a show such as this, which has an “irrational, archaic” assumption that couples are opposite sex.

And we have a right to note that this is a show based on the idea of watching celebrities dance, and to wonder what makes Bristol Palin a “celebrity.”

Well, that’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? It’s because she’s the unwed mother of Sarah Palin’s grandchild. Being Sarah Palin’s kid is not sufficient. Being an unwed mother is not sufficient. But both…? It’s the combination makes her a celebrity.

A girl with any sense of propriety might wish to avoid that sort of attention.
