Today on Tommy T’s Obsession with the Freeperati – Palin Announces Candidacy edition

Well, faithful friends, the moment we have all been waiting for is here – let’s suit up and hit the airlock, cos the Freeperati are buzzing like an electric razor on its last legs.

Sarah Palin to Announce Today on Bob&Mark Show?
HillBuzz ^ | Sept 16, 2011 | HillBuzz

“The Bob & Mark Show” broadcasts out of Anchorage, Alaska, with hosts Bob and Mark on KWHL.[Click here for a link to their site, where you can listen to the broadcast LIVE! ] In the final episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on TLC — which Governor Palin herself produced and had complete creative control over — the Governor promised to let Bob and Mark know, on the air, when she decides to run for president. Since the Governor personally chose to have that bit included in the episode, there has to be a reason for this. “The Bob and Mark Show” broadcasts Monday through Friday.

After all this time – all this teasing – all this hope and fear – could it finally be happening??

To: newfreep

She should probably wait a few days and let the tabloid book about her draw some more heat.

But then Friday’s are always good for good news. Screw up the Journalists weekend and make them cover you’re news cycle. Then she’ll be the talk of all the talking heads on Sunday.

I don’t buy it. If she were goingh to annonce, ashe’d certainly want to do so in a more splashy wat than on a dinky radio show. (No offense meant to the show.) but wouldn’t she at least pick Rusd Limbaugh’/s show, if not calling yogether a full media scrum of all the Network and cable news channels?

New collective noun – a “scrum of media”.

To: DGHoodini

Quite the contrary.

My understanding has been, Palin long ago stated if she does announce, it will be on that very show.

Could be the day…

God doesn’t love me that much,

To: DGHoodini

Do you really doubt if she were to call up all the news media, foreign and domestic, and say she was making a big announcement in 24 hrs at (X) place, that every single one of them wouldn’t have a news team there at the ready? Ahead of time, to get the best position they could?

It would be like throwing them a scrum…er, crumb.

Bob and Mark Show?

Seems kind of a lame venue to announce a Presidential bid.

Hmmm…, perhaps that means that she’s not going to announce anything of the sort, once again leaving her acolytes spurned at the altar.

Will Our Sarah announce?
Will Bob and Mark announce their engagement?
Will Freeperstan explode in a Perry vs. Palin free-for-all?
The answers to this and many other questions below the fold-er-ol.

Remember this about Sarah Palin, she’s got the media running to her with every move she makes. Doesn’t matter if she announces on a “dinky” radio show or if she announces on national television in prime time. She will generate a media frenzy all the same. Also, I think she might be taking a bit of personal satisfaction in making her announcement on a local radio show as opposed to sucking up to the media elite and doing it on their terms.

Others question her making the announcement on a Friday as it leads into the weekend and her announcement might be “old news” by Monday morning. People, this campaign has over a year left to go and this campaign is going to be in the daily news cycle for many months to come! Once the campaign is in full swing, nobody is going to remember that Palin made her announcement on a Friday in the middle of September as opposed to a Monday or Tuesday.

I think a pre-weekend, low-key announcement is smart for Palin. She doesn’t need a big splash of an announcement. Everybody already knows who she is. Let the shock of the announcement settle over the weekend and she can hit the ground running next week.

Agreed. Announcing on a local radio show, as oppossed to the MSM Marxist Media will have them howling’ like steppin on a dogs tail.

It doesn’t matter where and if she runs, she could announce it from a street corner standing on a soap box.

It would become the top story across the country so no place is inconsequential or lame.

But she may run, she sees Michele Bachmann dropping in the polls and exhibiting desperation and she has run to her defense against Perry, to no avail.

She also sees the Tea Party become weaker because of politicians using the organization for political purposes which, in it’s origins, was a PURE grass roots movement sans politicians of either party.

And I’m convinced she isn’t running and never has been. The pseudo-candidate status ensures her a platform and news media for every speech

…such as the Bob and Mark show. Heh.

and that’s a good thing. She can attack Hussein and they HAVE to cover it.

Good Analysis. That, and you don’t announce stuff like this on a Friday and get it buried over the weekend.

Not that my opinion is any more valuable than anyone else’s, but I think that she sits out, too. She’s more valuable to the GOP as a kingmaker

Bwahaha
.

“Kingmaker”, eh?

I wonder how John McCain feels about that?

and a lightning rod, and she has to know it. Maybe she gets a position as a cabinet member (Energy?), builds her credentials up some, washes off some of the slime the media has throw on her for the past 3 years, and makes a heavy-duty run in 2016 or 2020.

Lots of wishing and hoping here on FR. I know how the FReepers feel;I felt the same way about Fred Thompson in ’08. You know how that turned out.

To: Friendofgeorge

Well friendofpoop, first of all if you bothered to read and not wish, you would not post such assinine shi’te, go back before Sarah started with the “maybe I will, maybe I won’t tease”. Grant you a lot of Palinnutz, like yourself do detract from the Lady’s appeal, except I know that many who hide under Palin’s skirt, like possibly yourself, are paulnutz in sheep’s clothing just stirring discontent.

To your other remark, if I had to make a choice today, I would have to go with “the guy that will say absolutely anything to be elected.” and not the gal who won’t say one way or the other and is not in the race.

Now go on back to poopin in one hand and wishin in the other, because one will fill long before the other and everyone with the possible exception of you my FRiend knows which.

We’ll check back with you manana to get the update on wichful thinking.

Oh well, she still has another three weeks.

To: newfreep
I really might have been interested in a Palin candidacy but she blew her big chance if she wanted to run with the Iowa speech.
She is beginning to look more like a Tease than anything else.
PalinHooker

If she had run and been the nominee it would have shaken up the old GOP status quo and whether she won or lost it would have made for interesting and not boring presidential race.
But you have to figure the longer it goes on then the less likely she will do anything.
And now we are left the absolute mediocre. Can’t and will not vote for any of these folk.

If Palin runs, shes gonna have to explain her constant quitting including dropping out of Hawaii because there were so many Pacific Islanders there. There’s the shady deal that made her daughter some sort of political consultant and the shady deal where her daughter got a boatload of money in making a PSA for abstinence. There’s Levi in the background already indicating the Palin household isn’t as chaste as pretended.

Wait, wait. We use “media scrum” all the time in Canada. I’d hate for it to be turned into the general collective noun, rather than the specific impromptu press conference use it has today.
