Among all Americans, 35% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 61% disapprove. When it comes to Bush’s handling of the economy, 37% approve and 57% disapprove.

  1. Interesting. At least on 35% of those people passing me on the street are retarded, I suppose that’s comforting.
    May of 2006 showed the lowest approval rating, 32%. Looking over the other statistical tables, May of 2006 also showed the number of households saying they were worse off than formerly.
    My statistic; There are 35% of grandchildren who are not to be blamed for disowning their grandparents of this generation. And I am encouraging getting reallly shrillll, at cabdrollery.

  2. I think there has always been about a third of the country’s populace that secretly wanted a monarchy or a fascist strongman. Even in the days of the American Revolution, about a third of the country were loyalists. It doesn’t surprise me that we have the same proportion of boot-kissers now.

  3. You’re on to something. By definition, 50 % of the public is below average (the median). And only 35% of folks support the Chimp.
    Taking this further, I can’t remember the percentage that are at least 1 std. dev. below the average, but I’m wanting to say its somewhere around 25 to 30%.
    5% of the population is at least 2 st. dev. below average.
    The only critique is that we’re not talking intelligence / IQ. Instead, in this case, we’re talking about the ability to see reality.
