Athenae’s darkest secret is out: she likesWe Built This Fucking City. This came up on Facebook earlier this week and when she said she liked Jefferson Starship most of us assumed that she was referring to the pre-Mickey Thomas era band. Wrong. So, it’s time to prescribe an antidote: a Grace Slick tune from Red Octopus and a Paul Kantner opus fromSpitfire:

I didn’t say I LIKED it, I said I had it on my running playlist. BIG difference.
    (I do like it, though)

Bathing At Baxter’s is where it’s at.
    No man is an island
    (he’s a peninsula)
and I quite like “Pretty As You Feel” from Bark

don’t think there is a cure if you like the starship.
but then i like music to be dark. tho the country blues can be hopeful.

Sioux City used this song to promote their town this Spring and now Starship is playing a tour date there October 24th. With Survivor as an opening act. Road trip?

  5. Henry Holland says:

Bathing At Baxter’s is where it’s at
    War’s good business
    So give your sons
    But I’d rather have
    My country die for me
Could someone explain to me the piles of derision thatWe Built This City gets? I heard it on the radio the other day and it’s a good song almost ruined by a typically shitty mid-80’s production.
